Getting The Most Out Of Your Summer Wardrobe

Fall Transitional pieces

Fall has arrived on the east coast and it looks like it has actually brought its favorable weather with it. But before you pack away your summer wardrobes, I have a few styling tips that will help you get the most wear out of those pieces you bought a few weeks ago when it was still hot as hell out.

Transitioning your wardrobe from season to season is really all about layering. I know, you have heard this over and over again but it really is the most helpful way to get the most bang for your buck out of your clothing. Pull out some of your favorite summer staple pieces and add cozy layers to them. Chunky knit sweaters and vests are the perfect add on over a tank to make your look feel season appropriate and will keep you cool during the chilly parts of the day.

I wear denim year round but this fall I am really leaning toward the flare leg jean trend. They are comfortable, are super flattering and help elongate your legs (which I love). This season’s flares come in all shapes and sizes and also come high and low waisted, so make sure you find a style that flatters your body the best. Also, don’t be afraid to wear your white denim in the fall! We did away with the whole “No White After Labor Day” rule decades ago, so pull them out and get more mileage out of them. I love wearing my white denim with a nautical striped tee and a camel colored blazer over it, super easy and chic.

When it comes to summer dresses, if the print seems appropriate, just add over the knee boots or a pair of booties and a denim vest and you have a look made for autumn weather. You can even transition some of your most coveted maxi dresses into fall by adding a leather or denim jacket over it.

With these easy styling tips you will be ready to take on fall with ease, plus you may even be able to save up for that ahhmazing coat you have been eyeing…just saying.
