I recently wore this look to speak on the panel of Blogger Scene, a local networking event that brings all kinds of different bloggers from around the DMV area together. Blogger Scene was created by our friends and Natalie and Erika of The Fashionably Broke and Ashley of Ashley in DC to help educate and bring bloggers together to learn the ins and outs of blogging as a business. I was extremely excited that I was asked to speak on this year’s panel along with my office mates Meg Biram and Claire Ashley (you should check them out btw- these ladies are legit) as well as Mel from “Sarah, Ty, & Mel” on DC’s 107.3”. As you can image, I was super intimidated to be on a panel with these #Girlbosses, I mean it was only a year ago that I was standing in that crowd taking notes and wondering how I was ever going to make it as a successful blogger. A lot has changed over the past year and by no means do I think I am a “successful blogger” at this point but I have learned a ton from my experiences and also was able to create my own business from blogging. All things that make me extremely happy to be doing what I am doing and if I am able to help others learn from my successes and failures, then I am all for it.
I really enjoyed sharing my story and my experiences with the other crowd of over 80+ bloggers (yipes!) even though I am terrified of public speaking. But after the speaking was over and the butterflies subsided the best experience of all was meeting so many local bloggers that are aspiring to learn, grow and be better at their craft.
