You really see it all when it comes to Fashion Week. The good, the bad and the ugly. One of my favorite parts about this fashion circus is the people watching, it’s almost better than the runway shows. I pull so much inspiration from what I see on the streets in New York and even if that was all I went to NYFW for, it would be worth it. This fashion week was a little bit quieter for me than the ones in years past. I went to less shows, had more meetings, was able to meet up with friends and actually eat meals. Usually we are so busy running from show to show that we end up skipping lunch and dinner and lord knows that none of the NYFW parties that we ever attend serve meals. I guess that is just a fashion thing, no one eats. NYFW was also a tad disorganized this year, which was to be expected after Mercedes Benz dropped the event after last season. NYFW Spring Trend Report

As NYFW virgins, you can only imagine our excitement to even have received invites to go to some of these shows! When you are a NYFW newbie, you do not receive seats next to Anna Wintour or Chiara Ferragni (sadly) so for most of the shows, we had standing tickets or seats towards the back of the tent which made for some terrible pictures. We learned an insider tip a few days in, which was to stand in “The Pit” with all of the professional photogs, we may have looked a bit out of place in our 6″ stilettos and giant designer bags but we captured some great shots from there on out! We know it may be hard to think about Spring Fashion when we have barely entered Fall but we have to report about what we saw on the runways and what you should expect for the season to come. This may come in handy when you are going through some of your spring/summer pieces and wondering what to get rid of and what to hold on to.
