FALL In Love With VA Wine Country It doesn’t get much better than Fall in Virginia. I love my home state year round but it really shines brightest in the Fall. Since I practically live in DC amongst the traffic and noise, I take every chance I can get to drive out of the city and down those country roads back to my roots. Last weekend I was feeling that itch, so I packed up my bags and headed out to Loudoun for some R&R at Lansdowne Resort and Spa. They set me up with a gorgeous room overlooking the resort, golf course and the incredible fall foliage landscape. They also had a full cheese platter waiting for me upon arrival, they obviously knew the way to my heart! It was my dear friend, Kisten’s birthday, so she joined me at the hotel to kick off our relaxing girls weekend. I packed along one of my favorite bottles of rosé, so we popped the cork and enjoyed a refreshing glass of vino on our private balcony before we gussied ourselves up for the night. The Multitasking LBD

Every girl needs a few multitasking LBDs in her closet. A classic work dress, a going out dress and a daytime frock. Since I’m a lover of all things black, I I have quite a few of each and they are constantly on rotation. Whenever I’m unsure of what to wear to a specific event or meeting, my fall back is always an LBD. You don’t have to over think it, just pump up your accessory game a bit and you have a killer look. I love this free flowing dress by Australian label Delphine because I can practically wear it anywhere or to pretty much anything. It has a high crew neck and features loose, gently ruffled sleeves that flare out flatteringly. It falls straight to a drop-waist mini length, finishing with a high-low ruffle to match the sleeves. It has been a go to of mine for day time meetings, weekend brunches, and going from the beach to cocktails. It also comes in real handy after you consume one too many tacos and margs. 52 Thursdays Celebrates Fashion For Paws 2014

We were very fortunate to both attend Fashion for Paws this year which was held at the Omni Shoreham Hotel. You can always count us in for charity events especially when animals are involved! For those of you who have not heard of this runway show, it is a nationally acclaimed luxury brand event to help benefit the Washington Humane Society. The models who walk in the show agree to raise a minimum of $5,000 in just 10 weeks leading up to the event by taking part in a friendly fundraising competition. They are the bread and butter of this amazing fundraiser. We had so much fun watching these models strut down the aisle with their pups by their side, wearing the latest pieces that DC’s local luxury retailers carry. They were able to raise over $404k by the end of it all AND helped numerous sheltered doggies find forever homes that night! Such a fun event to attend, combining our two favorite things…fashion and dogs! Brilliant idea.
