Barbour – Introducing The All New 4oz Wax Jacket Michelle and I have been long-time customers and fans of the Barbour brand since as long as we can remember. So when we were asked to help Barbour launch their new line of light-weight spring jackets, we were absolutely thrilled! We already owned a wide variety of Barbour staples but their new 4oz Wax Collection has to be our favorite by far. The light-weight fabric in these new jackets is perfect for both LA’s gorgeous weather and the unpredictable weather we experience here in DC. With spring only weeks away, sunny beach days, cherry blossoms, and light spring jackets are the only things that we can think of at this point! Baby Blues: 5 Things To Get Over

I got the baby blues and 5 things I need to get over … I am very thankful that I never suffered from post part depression. I have had a few friends who did and of course read up on it before pregnancy in fear I may develop it. It’s a very common, real and difficult thing, especially since the very first few months should be some of your happiest moments ever. I will say that I have had some baby blues simply created from my new found role as mom. It’s THE most, BEST, amazing role to ever take on but being a “Mom” and the caretaker of another human being, well it’s flat out hard. It’s A LOT of stress! Imagine loving something so much, yet fearing for their well being at all times. Yes, I may be a bit of a worry wart for those who know me well, but it’s all good intentions. Typical Mad for Plaid

Just your typical mad for plaid this fall … I love fall and I’m pretty sure I’m not alone here. It’s that crisp feel and change of weather, the festive decorating and anticipation for each holiday, the cozy sweaters and boots galore … there is seriously just so much to toast about. As a new mom adventuring in to her very first season with baby girl, I have been much more cautious of my purchases this fall when I normally go a bit bananas. I need versatility and comfort while not spending a fortune. Because let’s be real … from the events, costumes, decorations and presents (oh boy …the presents), this might be the most expensive season to date. With all the expenses circulating, this doesn’t mean I want to sacrifice fashion which makes fall our all time favorite time. Now of course when I think of fall I immediately think of plaid. It’s the one pattern that is always in fashion this time of year. #Badasslands

Many people saw the #badasslands hashtag pop up in their social media newsfeed last week but even though the #badlands have legions of new admirers, quite a few of them still have no idea where they actually are. The hashtag may have started over the climate change controversy but hopefully it will encourage millions of people to make the trek out to soak in the extreme and magical natural wonder that is Badlands National Park. A long time favorite place for musicians, writers, and artists to explore mind altering experiences and connect with the natural world given its topography and location, miles away from light pollution. Visitor experience can be so out of this world that the Badlands often play other planets on TV, most famously portraying the bug planet in the 90’s cult classic “Starship Troopers”. Located only 30 miles from my husband’s family ranch Badlands National Park and the surrounding Buffalo Gap Grasslands have become a favorite place to visit on trips home to see the family and always a highlight for our visitors and guests.
