Think beach, sun, cocktails and fashion. Just a few of the main ingredients that make up Swim Week in Miami. What fashion and travel obsessed blogger would say no to a beach excursion like this? Naturally we jumped on our first trip to Swim Week last year where we were introduced to a whole new perspective in the fashion game; new swimwear lines, hotels, PR friends, start up companies, events, the list goes on. Once Swim Week 2015 was locked in, we booked our tickets and headed on our now annual adventure. We were introduced to BECCA by Rebecca Virtue on our last Miami trip and have stayed in great contact with them as they have become one of our favorite companies to work with. So of course wearing Becca at Swim Week in between our events to the pool and beach was high on our priority list. The pleasures of being a blogger is having the opportunity to mix work with pleasure. New York Fashion week is truly awesome but you definitely can’t lounge by the pool, drink in hand in between any of those shows. Shop our suits below before summer is completely over with! Michelle is wearing- Coverup: Becca Swim Mesh; Swimsuit: Becca Show […]

Soup season is here and I’m pretty excited about it. There is nothing more satisfying on a cold, chilly night than a homemade bowl of warm soup or chowder. It has become a weekly ritual in our household to try a new recipe and save our favorites. A pot full of soup in the fridge will feed us for days. It is a cost efficient and belly filling means to stay warm on cold nights. It all began thanks to my From the Farmer delivery and receiving two heads of cabbage, that’s a lot of cabbage! So I had to think of something to do with it… sauerkraut…kimchi… nope, both too complex. Due to a slam packed week and a limited window of opportunity I decided to go with soup – chop it up, add spices, cover. Too easy. Below is a basic, easy cabbage and potatoes soup recipe. The ingredients are simple and you can edit to your preference. This one pot soup is delicious and so easy to pull together. I went with the following: 2 tablespoons of olive oil 2 carrots, diced 2 stalks celery, diced 2 cloves garlic, minced 6 cups vegetable broth 2 medium gold potatoes, diced 1/2 head large […]

It’s coming up on one of my favorite days of the year… this day is honestly like a holiday to me and, I suspect, other fashionistas. The problem is, it takes a bit of concentration and (I’m not gonna beat around the bush here because I know that you, dear readers, will understand) psychic ability to discern the exact date. It’s not on any calendar I have and it varies depending on what city (or country) I’m living in, but it like the sun rising each morning it arrives every year. You know how every year, late Indian summer gently turns to early fall. The leaves slowly turn reddish and gold and the morning dog walk has that crispness – a tiny shiver before walking into the sunshine. You briefly consider putting on that cute bomber jacket you just bought, but then it’s only a short walk and your neighbors are sort of scrubs, anyway. You make a mental note: this weekend, it is time. You know what I’m talking about, right? Because you (and I) are not the only ones with this original thought. That weekend, at brunch or shopping at the farmer’s market or out whimsically apple picking […]
