A Weekend at The Saratoga Races

Saratoga will forever hold a special place in my heart, it has been an annual vacation spot for our family since I was a baby and it is also the place where Casey and I got engaged two years ago. I grew up in a horse loving family, so it is only natural that our family vacation would be centered around an equestrian event. Saratoga Springs, NY has so much charm and character behind it, from the historic homes to the natural springs and everything in between. I am sure you have ordered one of those blue bottles of sparkling water sold at your local restaurant, if you have then you have had a taste of Saratoga (literally). The race season at the Saratoga track starts in late July and runs six days a week through the end of August, which makes for the perfect time to visit to escape the southern heat. A 52 Thursday’s Spa Night in Review We have been on the hunt for the perfect beauty products, probably since forever. We thought it would be super fun to have a Spa Night In to catch up and also to review some of the latest beauty products out there and tell you about some of our favorites. Obviously this was also a fun excuse to hang out, relax and pamper ourselves and of course wine was involved. If you are looking for ideas to throw an easy girls night in, this is a great idea to get all your friends together for a relaxing night. Everyone brings over their favorite spa inspired product or something you have been wanting to try out such as a face mask, an exfoliator, nail polish, etc. What’s more fun than good company, drinks and discovering new beauty products together!? 52 Thursday’s #unmiSTKable night

STK is officially open for business right here in our nation’s capital! They are located in the Dupont Circle offering a one-of-a-kind, high-end dining and chic lounge experience. If you are looking for a sexy, sophisticated hotspot with #unmiSTKable food this is the place to be seen. What sets them apart from other traditional steakhouses is their vibe-driven atmosphere with inspired cocktails and DJs spinning nightly to create an energetic, night life vibe through out the entire place. As you can imagine, we were beyond excited to be invited to a private dinner before the official grand opening party on Thursday to taste the menu. We went in with empty stomachs and left full and completely satisfied, anxious for the grand opening! We started with the Tuna Tartar and Foie Gras French Toast. Both were amazing but the Foie Gras French Toast definitely stood out from anything we have ever tried with green apple, almond brioche and sherry gastrique. As anticipated, steak is the main attraction – so of course we both ordered the filet. I choose the béarnaise sauce which was the perfect combination and added even more flavor to the perfect steak. Throwing a party this New Years Eve and having trouble thinking of creative cocktails to serve? If so, I have you covered. My husband found this little gem when he was back home and was amazing enough to share with me. So now I am sharing with you.. I present to you The Calvert Party Encyclopedia, published in 1965. The book is full of vintage cocktail recipes, quirky hors d’oeuvres and party ideas for any occasion. I thought since New Year’s is upon us, I would share with you the champagne cocktails and a few of the hors d’oeuvres.
