Ferocious Fashion Forecasting: Animal print continues to be a trend that won’t be going away anytime soon … What is fashion forecasting? It’s the study and prediction of fashion based on the past, present and of course the future. To get specific because we love details, according to Wikipedia its the prediction of colors, fabrics, textures, materials, prints, graphics, beauty/grooming, accessories, footwear, street style, and other styles that will be presented on the runway and in the stores for the upcoming seasons. It’s what every designer does to keep up with this fashion world by gathering information from consumers. Anywhere from whats going on globally to what’s effecting consumers directly to predict future trends. And from what I have gathered from those forecasting, animal prints are not going away anytime soon. They are the past, present and future. My name is Michelle, and I’m a sucker for Zara . . . Yes, it’s true. I have a problem like most of us do. I’m addicted to Zara. Though to me it can be quite an overwhelming place to shop with all the trends of the season and most of the time just too much to look at. It’s exhausting, yet I keep coming back for more. Like an addict, and the fact that they have kids clothing too?! Done, just take my wallet and all my money. I will just eat rice and beans for the rest of my life with my daughter (true story, that’s all she will eat. sigh). But seriously, what I do love about them is that they do have all the trends and must haves for the season. Mom Jeans

These aren’t your typical mom jeans … I seriously couldn’t help but smile this entire shoot because quite frankly I was just in my mommy element. Give me a comfy, over sized denim shirt that I can easily wipe off spit up and baby food with out staining along with a well fitted pair of denim that’s a bit trendier than the norm, any day. Baby girl is now 6 months. Can you believe it?! She’s half a year old!! I never really understood why mommies always took monthly photos, but now I do. You have to cherish EVERY single MOMENT, because with the blink of an eye they are a complete new baby. Adaline went from an infant to what I feel like a toddler within just weeks. Ok maybe not a toddler, but she’s a big girl! She is eating solids like a pro (and now pooping more than ever like a pro), napping like a champ, sitting up, laughing, rolling, playing and all that cute baby stuff. Never a wrong time for polka dot .. As Marc Jacobs so eloquently put it “I don’t think there is ever a wrong time for a polka dot …”! My thoughts exactly Mr. Jacobs, because there never really is. As we endure scorching temperatures here in LA, reaching 97 degrees yesterday, it’s been quite challenging to get excited for fall. So I shall call this my “transitional look” with some spunky bows and polka dots of course. A light weight dress like this is perfect in these awkward days as we patiently wait. Patiently wait for the temperatures to drop so that we can finally throw on those boots that keep staring at us in the closet and peacefully sip on our steaming hot seasonal drinks with out wiping sweat off our foreheads. I paired this dress with simple, strappy heels and a denim jacket over the shoulders for when the chillier LA evenings creep around again. It gives an elevated yet effortless look for this time of year. So ladies, take advantage of this time.
