Getting Glam with Glamsquad … Getting shoot ready isn’t always as easy as it looks. While it is our goal to make things look effortless and easy, we normally have a bit of help to get camera ready. We normally do our own makeup for shoots but we both go the extra mile when it comes to our hair, because a blowout really does go a long way. But making an appointment and running to a salon before a shoot can take way more time than it’s worth. Yes, your hair turns out amazing but you just spent an hour in the chair and another hour fighting traffic to and from! Ah so frustrating! That is why we have been thanking our lucky stars that Glamsquad, a traveling hair and makeup team, exists. Michelle has been using Glamsquad in LA ever since she made the move to the west coast and has been raving to Sarah about it ever since. But finally Glamsquad has made its way to DC and we could not be happier! Going Gray

Ok I’m not quite going gray, at least I hope I’m not but who really knows when I highlight my hair as often as I do. But I think I’m better of being oblivious to the situation. The real reason for this post is to delve into my addiction to the color gray. I realized I had a borderline obsession with collecting clothing in the moody hue when I bought my 12th gray sweater. I’m pretty sure 11 gray sweaters would have been plenty. But when you have two dogs (1 white and 1 black) that shed like it’s their business, the only color I can realistically wear without looking like the crazy dog lady that I am is the color gray. This is also why we own a gray couch, a gray comforter, and a gray dog bed. Not only is gray practical for my life, I also love the way it looks against tan skin and blonde hair. Hey guys! So it’s been a minute since I’ve done an outfit post. If you have been following our Instagram @fiftytwothursdays, then you are aware that I recently moved to the Golden State. The sky is clear and the flowers are always blooming – no complaints here. However, I do miss my family and close friends. On days like this post, Easter Sunday, having no family to celebrate with can be heartbreaking. I wish I could’ve seen my little nephew and niece race through the yard to find hidden easter eggs. The excitement in their eyes when they spot one and the smiles on their faces as they open their Easter baskets. Thankfully for FaceTime and SnapChat I am able to witness these events from afar. On Easter, the hubby and I attended mass followed with yummy brunch, dressed all in our Sunday’s best. As a “sucker” I naturally opted for an all white look, it seemed appropriate for the celebration. And for those brief moments when a cool breeze passed through I threw on a seersucker blazer. It’s hard watching one of your best friends and business partner pack up and move across the country. It had only been a little over a month since she moved but I decided that it was time to get out of DC and head out west for a 52 Thursdays reunion.
