Summers in DC are HOT HOT HOT. So when it comes to dressing during these sizzling summer days, less is more. I’m not talking about dressing scantily clad but I am talking about dropping the layering and wearing cute sundresses instead! They are easy, breezy and will keep you feeling much cooler during the next month of pure sauna-like temps. I love all sundresses but there is just something about seersucker that screams summer and horses! My family and I always spend the first week in August in Saratoga, NY watching the horse races, so you can bet that this seersucker number will be making the trip with me. It’s the perfect amount of cute and preppy and perfect for a day at the races! Scroll down for more photos of this look and to shop a few of my favorite sundress this season! All items are 25% off today! Photos By Emma Weiss xo Sarah

Long vests have been around for some time now, but they have finally become a staple piece on both the streets and the runways. After seeing them practically everywhere, I decided I should give it a go myself. I had been eyeing this long vest from Top Shop for a while but was struggling with how I would style it into my everyday wardrobe. After some contemplation, I finally realized that I had to take the blush-beauty home with me and ever since I have had some serious fun with it. I have found that there are endless ways to layer a long structured vest with what you are already wearing. And let’s face it, since mother nature has decided to skip spring altogether and head straight into summer, the last thing we will be wanting to wear is something that has sleeves. There are boundless possibilities when it comes to putting an outfit together with a long vest like this one and I am still finding new ways to wear it today. When it’s warm outside, wear it with a sleeveless top; when it gets cooler, wear it with a long sleeve shirt underneath; when it gets downright freezing, wear it […]

I don’t opt for a dress unless completely necessary. With the countless trends right now – the jumper, pencil skirts, crop tops, tuxedo ensembles – why not style something differently for the next party or upcoming event. For this Holiday season I wanted to try something a little more unexpected. For my hubbies Holiday party, I took my favorite camel sweater and softened the look by pairing it with a white pencil skirt, favorite jewels and classic pumps. I felt comfortable and relaxed the entire night with out feeling like I could not eat or drink a thing. And most importantly, not once was I nervous that there would be another girl showing up in the same look as mine! Thanks to Rocksbox, this slate spiked pearl necklace really completed the look I was going for – classic but with an edge. We discovered Rocksbox recently and have been obsessed ever since. The concept is perfection. Fill out a quick survey so that your personal stylist can figure out your taste and personality. Then you will receive your Rocksbox with your new goodies to try out. If you love it, simply keep it and pay the member’s price! If you don’t like or just not in […]

We were lucky enough to meet with rising jewelry design star, Marrin Costello and her fabulous director of marketing, Jaclyn McKethen in DC a few weeks back. After a few cappuccinos and lattes our energy started flowing and we got to talking about MARRIN COSTELLO as a brand, who they are and what they are striving for in this industry which places them apart from their competitors. We felt like little girls playing dress up in mommy’s jewelry box, trying on different pieces and lusting over the next one that caught our eye. However, this was real life and we were being styled and layered with jewelry by the designer herself! All of MARRIN COSTELLO’s attainable luxury pieces are designed and handmade in LA with love. Each piece we laid our hands on had the perfect mix of edginess while still feminine, which allows for endless possibilities with future outfitting! You can see in Marrin’s designs that she has an appreciation for genuine artistry and craftsmanship. With an entrepreneurial background and a passion in accessories starting at a very early age it only made sense to turn her hobby in to a business after her studies of Art History and Egyptology […]
