Baby Girl’s Nursery Reveal

I have been daydreaming about my baby’s nursery ever since Pinterest first came on the scene. This was well before the possibility of a baby was even realized. Who doesn’t enjoy making story boards and pinning pictures of beautiful nurseries? So I was surprised that when it came time to actually put together a nursery, I was at a complete loss with where to start. I enjoy the visually artistic side of things, especially when it comes to wardrobe assembly, but interior design feels like an entirely foreign concept to me. There is also the disconnect between having a vision and executing that vision. And to add to the dire situation even more, I came to find that my husband was very opinionated about every decision from colors to overall decor. So despite the fact that we thought we had a vision and had been slowly collecting pieces to use in the nursery, we just couldn’t figure out how to decorate our nursery. While we were in Miami for Fashion week we had the amazing opportunity to check out the debut of Karla Colletto’s Cruise 2015 collection. This unique and creative capsule collection was the perfect collaboration with Washington D.C. based creative agency Design Army. Karla Colletto and creative director Pum Lefebure created the Swim At Your Own Risk capsule collection. They did an absolutely amazing job capturing creative composition with a signature look featuring exquisite construction and high-quality materials. So of course we had to check out the Design Army pool party at the Capitol Skyline Hotel August 22nd, celebrating the exclusive collection. The models were stunning, perfectly capturing a modern, witty and fresh new take on swimwear. The two beauties in the middle are non other than the creative director of Design Army, Pum Lefebure and Kim Thornton of Karla Colletto. “The modern woman is daring, and never shies away from adventure. Since I was little I have always been fascinated with Greek mythology – mythical gods who ruled the world and used the Greek islands as their play grounds. Each story has a meaning or lesson, many of which I carry with me to this day. Naturally I was obsessed with the the Evil Eye pieces that I found from Carré Jewelry. The concept of the evil eye is widespread in Mediterranean countries, with its roots planted in ancient Greece. The purpose of the evil eye symbol, also known as the matiasma, is to ward off the effects of the evil eye.
