The day is finally here! My husband has diligently been working away for over 2 years, designing, creating and perfecting his own line of sunglasses which is finally up for sale. His brand, J.Martasand, specializes in producing quality acetate sunglasses that are handmade in the United States – which is a huge rarity within the eyewear industry. Of course I’m a little bias, but as a fashion bloggers it’s essential to have a nice collection of sunglasses. We have put these suckers through the test and they have met our expectations. The thing that we love the most about his collection is the styles are simple, clean, and timeless – think little black dress, your classic Chanel bag, a pearl necklace. I wouldn’t feel like a good wifey if I didn’t share his hard work with our lovely readers and I’ll let him speak for himself: “The inaugural #001 Limited Edition release from J. Martasand marks a beginning for many: for the brand, for your style, for our next adventure. Each piece is handcrafted stateside and individually marked with their respective release number along with a simple, yet important, reminder, “Made in USA”. We are a small but ambitious brand, […]

This week we bring to you our 3rd addition of 52 Interesting People: Linell Ellis One of the things we love so much about our blog, is the opportunity to discover new interesting and emerging designers in the fashion industry. It’s something we truly pride ourselves on to share with our readers. With our 52 Interesting People posts, we can share with you a little more than just our insight- coming straight from the creator itself. This week we introduce to you… Linell Ellis. Linell Ellis, an up and coming handbag designer, happens to be a local to the metropolitan area with quite the eye for aesthetics. Not only did we have the chance to try out these clutches ourselves, we also had the opportunity to ask the designer herself a few questions. Helping us understand the magic behind the collection from the inspiration to the details plus a few fun facts and advise on how you too can make your dream a reality. 52: What did you want to be when you were a little girl? Linell: I wanted to be a nurse. I have always loved helping people. It makes me happy. 52: In one word, what describes your brand the best? […]

We hit the vintage jackpot when we came across DC’s premier luxury consignment shop, Ella Rue. The fabulous ladies of Ella Rue have an impeccable eye for collecting both vintage and modern pieces and it shows the second you walk into their store. They know what their customers want and they know how to supply it with the help of fabulous consignors from across the country. Ella Rue is located in the heart of Georgetown and they have grown leaps and bounds since they opened their doors in November of 2010. These fun and energetic ladies will have you hooked, whether you are looking to consign or buy. The sisters behind Ella Rue, Krista and Alexa really take pride in what they do, which is why we wanted to showcase our favorite fall looks from their shop. Knowing the array of styles and designers we would have to choose from didn’t hurt either! We really wanted to challenge ourselves and decided to showcase our favorite vintage/fall looks with a menswear twist. The looks incorporate many elements…lace, leather, tweed, silk, SHOULDER PADS!…and the list goes on. Let us know what you guys think and don’t be afraid to mix things up this fall!
