Living in the DC area, it’s always nice to get away from the madness, get some much needed R&R, have a few brews, a bunch crabs and some rays at the beach. This summer I will be pretty much be living in my bathing suit and whatever else I can throw over it easily. I love this top by Hazel from South Moon Under, the appliqué detail on the front and the twisted rope t-style back make this casual top perfect for summer nights at the beach. I paired it with denim shorts and my favorite Tory Burch wedges to kick it up a notch for cocktails by the bay. If you are packing for a beach vacation this summer, keep it simple and comfortable. 52 Thursdays Celebrates Fashion For Paws 2014

We were very fortunate to both attend Fashion for Paws this year which was held at the Omni Shoreham Hotel. You can always count us in for charity events especially when animals are involved! For those of you who have not heard of this runway show, it is a nationally acclaimed luxury brand event to help benefit the Washington Humane Society. The models who walk in the show agree to raise a minimum of $5,000 in just 10 weeks leading up to the event by taking part in a friendly fundraising competition. They are the bread and butter of this amazing fundraiser. We had so much fun watching these models strut down the aisle with their pups by their side, wearing the latest pieces that DC’s local luxury retailers carry. They were able to raise over $404k by the end of it all AND helped numerous sheltered doggies find forever homes that night! Such a fun event to attend, combining our two favorite things…fashion and dogs! Brilliant idea. Lucky Dog Friday: Meet Frida

Every Friday we will be featuring a different rescue dog that is looking for their forever home. Lucky Dog Animal Rescue is near and dear to my heart because that is where I found my sidekick Blanqui! Blanqui was our 6th foster with Lucky Dog and we are what you call a “foster fail”, this is when you adopt your foster dog. Our little Puerto Rican firecracker has brought so much joy and laughter to our house, we couldn’t imagine a day without her. Thank you Lucky Dog for helping us find each other! I hope that you will have a similar story to share one day. Meet sweet Frida! She is a 4-year-old Shepherd mix who was found wandering the streets of Puerto Rico! In honor of our Puerto Rican dog, I thought I would feature her first. She has had a rough life, and would love to finally find a home where she can get the love that she has never had. She is a full-grown gal at 50 pounds and is out of the crazy puppy stage, but still with a lot of energy. She is great with other dogs (as long as they are not […]
