After a long day of work the last thing I really want to do is make dinner and coming up with the dish is half the battle. We eat pretty healthy in this household and always try to make everything from scratch so we know what we are putting in to our bodies. I’m always looking for an excuse to make my mom’s famous sugar cookies, so it just made sense to host a cookie decorating party with all of our friends. They are so easy to make and you will have plenty left over, even after the party. This has been a family recipe that I always look forward to making with my mom and sister every year (and of course enjoying them after). They come out light and fluffy and warning; they are extremely addictive!! “Peggy’s Sugar Cookies” Ingredients 2 cups of sugar 1 1/2 cup shortening 3 eggs 1 cup milk 1 tbs baking powder 1 tsp baking soda 5 cups (flour till thick) Mix thoroughly and chill overnight. Roll out on floured surface and cut into desired shapes. Bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 min. Frosting 2 cups of powdered sugar 1/2 cup of butter Splash of milk- Add until it creates a thick paste that will hold on cookie Create different colors by adding […]
