Valentine’s day shouldn’t just be about the lovers and couples, because let’s be honest not everyone is bunned up this time of year. We love any excuse to celebrate our true loves but of course, we can’t forget about our select and few, true friendships. This Valentine’s Day we wanted to take the day to relax, unwind and celebrate Galentine’s Day at the elegant Mandarin Oriental located in the heart of the US Capital. Michelle was back home in DC for a short period of time to shower baby girl with her friends and family. We took advantage of this time to catch up and get some R&R while doing so. We started our day off doing what we love doing the most – shopping. We visited our favorite local shop, South Moon Under and picked up some goodies to wear to our lunch date at the Muze to begin our Galentine’s Day retreat. We, of course, went over blog related topics and then moved on to catching each other up on love, life and anything and everything in between. Baby Martin was craving steak so Michelle devoured steak and potatoes while Sarah went for a Thai twist and ordered the Tom Kha soup and Thai Steak […]

One trend we are really loving this season is the floral trend. It’s kind of always around each Spring and Summer but there is a new twist with it this 2016 with edgier components and more of a chill vibe and feel. Which is why we are loving every minute of it. You can be girly and fun with a comfortable low key feel with flash backs of our youth from the 80’s and 90’s. We rounded up a few trend essentials that we love together with these floral prints. Chokers: Chokers are back and we aren’t complaining. It’s a nice switch up for an accessory trend with fun nostolgic memories. Cognac or Neutral colored cross bodies: An effortless bag that’s soft for the warmer weather and easy to sling on while on the go in your adventurous activities. Ankle and strappy short heeled sandals: Loving the heel height because its much more comfortable than stilettos! Mirrored Sunnies: They are vibrant with personality during the most fun and active season around. Denim Jacket: Bringing back the 80’s here with some light weight layering for Summer. Tie it around the waist, over the shoulders or on for an extra element to your ensemble. […]

June 20th officially marks the calendar as the first day of Summer but here in LA it can truly feel like an endless Summer. With sunny days and clear skies you can imagine how easy it is to loose track of Summer’s arrival. But a day is just a day and what it most important is that the pools open up this weekend and that’s when Summer starts in our books. Think inflatable life size swans, cookouts, margaritas, floppy hats and a whole lot of sun. Sounds fun, we know. As soon as Sarah had booked her trip to LA we immediately got to planning our outfits, looking for fun, vibrant pieces to get us in the Summer mind set and to kick off Memorial Day weekend in style. Lilly Pulitzer is one of our favorite go-to brands to shop when headed somewhere sunny or in Michelle’s case – living somewhere sunny, so of course they were our first stop to shop. We love effortless printed styles that are easy to pack and don’t require too much thought especially while on vacation. There isn’t another brand out there that truly does resort wear all-year-round like Lilly. These pieces go from day to night with just a […]

Packing for fashion week is no joke. You never know who you are going to see or meet and you always want to look your best. Unlike New York Fashion Week, Swim Week is held annually in Miami in the midst of summer. Not sure who or why they decided to hold Swim Week in the hottest destination during the hottest month in summer but hey, at least they have really good mojitos right? So when packing, you have to take the extreme heat into account and make sure that you are able to wear something that is fashion forward, comfortable and wont make you sweat like a pig. Having learned the hard way last year with some sweat-tastic outfit choices, we knew that this year had to get it right, our deodorant depended on it. With all of our concerns in mind we headed to South Moon Under, which has always been a go to store of ours. We frequently shop there for everyday outfits, gifts and they have the best swimwear and cover-up selection in the DMV area. So when we started planning our trip to South Beach, we knew that South Moon Under was our destination to help get us […]
