NYFW Spring Trend Report

As NYFW virgins, you can only imagine our excitement to even have received invites to go to some of these shows! When you are a NYFW newbie, you do not receive seats next to Anna Wintour or Chiara Ferragni (sadly) so for most of the shows, we had standing tickets or seats towards the back of the tent which made for some terrible pictures. We learned an insider tip a few days in, which was to stand in “The Pit” with all of the professional photogs, we may have looked a bit out of place in our 6″ stilettos and giant designer bags but we captured some great shots from there on out! We know it may be hard to think about Spring Fashion when we have barely entered Fall but we have to report about what we saw on the runways and what you should expect for the season to come. This may come in handy when you are going through some of your spring/summer pieces and wondering what to get rid of and what to hold on to. Easy Southern cooking at its best! My husband received a new grill for his birthday and every night since we have been grilling out for every meal possible. I can’t complain because every dish has been amazing and flavorful, while learning new favorites to save to the recipe binder for years to come. These cajun shrimp and sausage skewers are definitely a keeper. It’s so easy to make and even easier to clean up. The perfect attraction to any BBQ or party this Summer. What you will need 6-12 wooden or metal skewers 2 ears of corn 6 small potatoes, halved 24 large shrimp in the shell (about 1 lb) 1 lb sausage 2 tablespoons of Cajun Seasoning To make your own Cajun Seasoning … 3 tablespoons granulated garlic 3 tablespoons granulated onion 3 tablespoons of sweet paprika 1 tablespoon of smoked paprika 4 teaspoons of dried thyme 4 teaspoons of dried oregano Kosher salt and ground black pepper Start by boiling waiter in a large sauce pan and cook corn and potatoes for 5 min. Greek Adventure Part 2: Santorini

Santorini was the inspiration for our entire trip to Greece; it was the destination that I needed to see, the one I had dreamed about. Transportation was significantly less painful than our Athens to Mykonos experience and thankfully I was able to keep my luggage with me. We always adore Starwood Resorts and had the great fortune to stay at the Vedema for three wonderful nights. The only thing better than the resort itself was the fantastic staff that made us feel at home 5,272 miles from Arlington. The Vedema is not only just a luxurious hotel with out of this world customer service and accommodations but like everything in Santorini it has incredible history. Before being reborn as a luxury resort the buildings and grounds housed one of Santorini’s largest wineries growing and fermenting the Assyrtiko grape for over 400 years. Given that history our fist order of business had to be wine tasting in the original barrel cave hosted by Vedema’s resident Sommelier, followed by a pretty glorious nap.
