What is motherhood? I came across a quote I really enjoyed. That “being a mother is not about what you gave up to have a child, but what you gained from having one“. It’s crazy how having a baby will flip your world upside down yet in an instant that baby will too become your entire world in the best way possible. My husband and I used to be quite the wannabe “foodies”. We would try new restaurants each weekend and indulge in all the chef’s specials and delicious wine list. Today, in this day in age, it’s the last thing I want to do. After a long work week consisting of us coming home in the evening while frantically cooking/ eating dinner as a family with very little play time left over, the weekend is what we look forward to the most. All I want is to do is find fun activities and things to do to make my baby girl happy! But of course a date night, with good food once every few months is necessary for our sanity. Like I said, being home with baby A brings me all the joy in the world. When we moved in to our new home, I wanted to make […]

Mama has got your back baby girl! Sharing my tips to transitioning baby in to the nursery … This post is loooong over due. Typical me excuse but totally true. I really wanted to write a post on transitioning baby in to his/her room because it’s something that not all new moms think about until the time comes. I wanted to share my personal experience because I can’t be the only un prepared mommy out there, right?! So when it came time to move her in to her big girl room at about 3 months, I was a complete mess. Of course I wasn’t getting any sleep to begin with so my anxiety level was through the roof. I had two cameras on her, well still do but I don’t stare at both religiously like I did once before. Every time I woke up, I would check the cameras by zooming in and ensuring that she was breathing. Then of course I couldn’t go back to sleep once I had that reassurance because I was just staring in to a lit screen for minutes looking for movement from a tiny infant. This would go on all night. So not healthy, I know. I was […]

It’s play time! My baby girl is officially 3 months old! Crazy to believe as the past few moths have been a bit of a blur. Every day I’m given a new obstacle to overcome, but every day I’m blessed to wake up to her sweet smile and a new milestone to celebrate. Her personality is truly blossoming as the giggles roll in and play time is feeling more like play time, not just monitoring her tummy time. She loves peek a boo and looooooves to babble. We can go back and forth grunting and growling at each other. She also loves to gnaw on anything and everything she can get her hands on but her Sophie is her main squeeze at the moment, literally. I just wish she could learn to hold on to the dang thing for more than 5 minutes! Now that she is beginning to play more and interact with toys, I knew I needed a play area in the nursery so I did a little revamp. I added this adorable round pink rug and toy basket from Lorena Canals to keep up with my baby girl’s lil’ milestones. We spend most of our days right here, reading books, babbling, tummy […]

I have been daydreaming about my baby’s nursery ever since Pinterest first came on the scene. This was well before the possibility of a baby was even realized. Who doesn’t enjoy making story boards and pinning pictures of beautiful nurseries? So I was surprised that when it came time to actually put together a nursery, I was at a complete loss with where to start. I enjoy the visually artistic side of things, especially when it comes to wardrobe assembly, but interior design feels like an entirely foreign concept to me. There is also the disconnect between having a vision and executing that vision. And to add to the dire situation even more, I came to find that my husband was very opinionated about every decision from colors to overall decor. So despite the fact that we thought we had a vision and had been slowly collecting pieces to use in the nursery, we just couldn’t figure out how to decorate our nursery. Lucky for me, I was introduced to Laurel & Wolf. They are an affordable online interior design. They have provided so much ease in what can be such an intimidating and frustrating process. All I had to […]
