If you know me at all, you know that Intermix in Georgetown is my first and usually always my last stop to shop. They have it all, from designer pieces to new and up and coming vendors. Dressing for Fall with H&M

Football season has officially started, the seasonal Starbucks lattes are finally back, yellow school buses are making their rounds and brisk, cool nights are here and sticking around. So many traditional signs to let us know that Fall is amongst us and we are loving every minute of it. The early days of fall are always the most fun to dress for. So many transitional pieces to carry from summer to fall to even winter. The minimalist trend is one of our favorites by far. This simplistic, effortless and refined chic look is perfect for the transitioning weather, with fitted silhouettes and light layering pieces. Tights, boots and some killer wrap coats or oversized throws will take you to the next season until all you want to wear are your comfy, go to sweats come February! We wanted to showcase our favorite looks from H&M featuring the minimalist trend for this season. These looks could easily be worn for a date night out and even to the office if you throw on the cardigan. 52 Thursdays Celebrates Fashion For Paws 2014

We were very fortunate to both attend Fashion for Paws this year which was held at the Omni Shoreham Hotel. You can always count us in for charity events especially when animals are involved! For those of you who have not heard of this runway show, it is a nationally acclaimed luxury brand event to help benefit the Washington Humane Society. The models who walk in the show agree to raise a minimum of $5,000 in just 10 weeks leading up to the event by taking part in a friendly fundraising competition. They are the bread and butter of this amazing fundraiser. We had so much fun watching these models strut down the aisle with their pups by their side, wearing the latest pieces that DC’s local luxury retailers carry. They were able to raise over $404k by the end of it all AND helped numerous sheltered doggies find forever homes that night! Such a fun event to attend, combining our two favorite things…fashion and dogs! Brilliant idea. Behind The Scenes with The Sisters of Catherine G. Damewood Purveyors of Fine Florals & Design

A few months back I had the opportunity to go behind the scenes to capture the talented photographer, Kristen Finn, in action while she shot our good friends Meggie Galvan and Catherine Damewood of Catherine G. Damewood Purveyors of Fine Florals and Design. It was a rainy day in Middleburg, but it was all smiles inside the lovely boutique Patina, where the shoot took place. The gorgeous antiques on display provided the perfect setting to showcase the original floral arrangements by Meggie and Catherine. These sisters are truly talented and have become increasingly busy since launching their business in late 2013. The Purveryors are based out of Loudoun County, VA and have been creating quite a buzz with their unique floral arrangements that can be seen at some of the most exclusive weddings, events and parties in Northern Virginia. Now that they have taken the floral industry by storm, the sisters’ next phase will be offering high-end vintage rentals to their clients in 2014 and that’s something we are very excited about at 52 Thursdays.
