Fall Fashion: Simplify Your Style

Simplify your style … Fall might be one of the most loved seasons over the year simply because it’s the most fun to dress for. Colder weather allows for more layering which means more opportunity for trends, unexpected styling and cozy, comfortable looks. But what do you do when the weather just isn’t cooperating? When you are over summer dressing but it’s just not cold enough to pull out your favorite sweaters and oversized jackets just yet. Well I use this transitional period to simplify my fall looks with easy throw on dresses. It’s comfortable, breathable and can easily pass for fall dressing by pairing with some cute booties or over the knee boots. I always love to add a wool hat to complete the look because it’s another element of styling with out actually layering the look and complicating the simplicity of the ensemble. This dress from Noa Elle embodies everything I was looking for. I love the billowy sleeves and lace detail making this little black dress more than just your little black dress. Caffeine + Stripes

Good coffee, an oversized bag and comfy pair of tennies create the perfect weekend trio when running around the city on the weekends. Throw everything you need in your larger than life bag and hit the road running. If your weekends are anything like mine, AKA busy as hell, then you need to have a bag that you can stow all your necessities for the day. I’m talking phone, wallet, hair brush, protein bars, water bottle, and even an umbrella just incase we encounter those unsuspecting spring showers. Luckily my new Henri Bendel bag fits everything I need to get me from the brunch with my friends to running errands with ease. Just add a cute striped top and a coffee from La Columbe and you have a perfect Sunday in the city! Monochromatic Days in LA

Just another monochromatic day in LA. There is something about a monochromatic outfit that screams happiness to me. Probably because it’s so easy to achieve … just throw together a look with colors all in the same hue, it’s hard to go wrong. We all have many variations of one color in our closet, pick whichever color you are vibing on that day and compose a seamless look that meshes together like those of a perfect beach sunset. I actually based my outfit around my new Henri Bendel satchel. The monochromatic color tones inspired me to find a look that was simple and chic with that effortless factor. And of course my answer to every spring outfit is to throw on white pants. It really lightens up the whole look for a polished, clean style. I always recommend buying two pairs if you find a style you really like that fits you well. More than likely you will wear that pair to the ground, either that or spill something on it. I’ve learned my lesson after way too many bad experiences! What It’s Like To Be 30

I turn 31 today. A number I thought I would cringe to see on my birthday cake, but so far it’s not so bad. In fact, it’s the reason I am writing my very first birthday blog post. I wanted to share with you my highs and lows of last year but most importantly why I am so grateful to be here and why 31 really is just a number. This time last year … the BIG 3-0 …my husband had planned an elaborate birthday dinner for me but unfortunately I came down with the flu and homemade chicken noodle soup was the highlight of my night. As I am writing this, ironically enough it is 8:16pm on a Sunday and my husband is passed out in bed next to me from night time tylenol flu. I clearly have had a lot of time on my hands this evening to stop and reflect upon life at 30. It has been a good year. I’ve progressed in areas, found new success, and traveled to new places.
