The Best of Miami Swim Week

Big hair, snakes, barely there suits, celebrities and steamy temps are just a few words to describe what we experienced at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim 2015 this past week in Miami. This was our first time attending Swim Week and we are sure it won’t be our last since it was quite the experience. We attended pretty much every show and after party that was held at The Raleigh Hotel which left little down time to eat or sleep, so as you can imagine we are a tad bit exhausted. So sorry for the late share! Below are a few of our favorite “stand out” runway moments that we had to share with you right away. Who doesn’t love a Britney Moment? We Are Handsome nailed it. A.Z Araujo show was the most entertaining by far. We loved the variety of shapes and sizes to all different ages of beautiful models walk that walk. Even Adriana de Moura from The Real Housewives of Miami strutted her stuff on the runway! Mara Hoffman never disappoints. Her new collection was inspired by her recent travels to Guatemala with a fresh take marrying bold prints on one side and striking solids on the other. 52 Thursday’s #unmiSTKable night

STK is officially open for business right here in our nation’s capital! They are located in the Dupont Circle offering a one-of-a-kind, high-end dining and chic lounge experience. If you are looking for a sexy, sophisticated hotspot with #unmiSTKable food this is the place to be seen. What sets them apart from other traditional steakhouses is their vibe-driven atmosphere with inspired cocktails and DJs spinning nightly to create an energetic, night life vibe through out the entire place. As you can imagine, we were beyond excited to be invited to a private dinner before the official grand opening party on Thursday to taste the menu. We went in with empty stomachs and left full and completely satisfied, anxious for the grand opening! We started with the Tuna Tartar and Foie Gras French Toast. Both were amazing but the Foie Gras French Toast definitely stood out from anything we have ever tried with green apple, almond brioche and sherry gastrique. As anticipated, steak is the main attraction – so of course we both ordered the filet. I choose the béarnaise sauce which was the perfect combination and added even more flavor to the perfect steak. Top Shelf and Bottom of The Barrel at The Oscars

Clap…clap…clap…well done ladies and gents. We were very pleased with most red carpet looks that we saw tonight, however this made it easy to spot the not so “Top Shelf” ensembles that made their way into the Oscars. We also have to hand it to Ellen for ordering pizza for the audience, taking the most retweeted #selfie ever and for wearing a fairy god mother costume. We would say she pretty much nailed it. Top Shelf Lupita Nyongo killed it again in #NairobiBlue (yes she made up a new color) Prada gown with simple but stunning headband and ear candy. Cate Blanchett won the best Actress Award in this stunning Armani gown Naomi Watts wore Calvin Klein with an edgy statement necklace by Bulgari. We also love the easy hair she is sporting. Charlize Theron stunned in a black Haute Couture number by Dior with illusion straps and stand out statement necklace. Kate Hudson was wearing a gorgeous gown by Atelier Versace and with a stunning plunging neckline and Neil Lane jewels. Bottom Of the Barrel Pharrell was in a shorts suit.. We are just stunned that he didn’t wear that hat on the Red Carpet..but don’t worry he threw it on for his performance. […]
