I’m good at many things, organization is not one of them. Since I can remember, I’ve struggled with keeping things neat and tidy. I had the messiest desk at school and my childhood room was always in shambles. My poor mother. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve definitely tried harder to stay on top of things now that Casey (also not a neat freak) and I have a home of our own but there are only so many hours in a day. After a long day of work and my evening gym session, the last thing I want to do is come home and work on organizing things. Honestly, it’s a miracle if I’m able to get the grocery shopping done! Thank god for grocery delivery! I’ve wanted to work with an organizer for years. I felt like having guidance on purging and setting up a system to help our lives run more smoothly would only bring Casey and me more joy when we do have time together at home. Enter, Rachel & Company Organizers. She’s the top-rated organizing specialist in the area and when she reached out to collaborate, I was 100% in! It’s like she knew I needed help.. […]

Spring is in the air! Time to pack up your winter clothes and plaid decor to make room for spring. I love when the season’s change but the transition to spring has to be my all-time favorite. There is something about fresh flowers and the feeling of warm weather that is so uplifting. This year, I got a head start on my spring refresh. On a recent Target run to pick up paper towels and toothpaste, I instead ended up with a cart full of new dishes and napkins from the new Joanna Gains collection. Don’t you love when that happens? Now, these place settings didn’t scream spring to me, instead, they seemed extremely versatile. Something that I could use year round but still looked super fresh and modern. And since I blew my budget on new plates and napkins, I wanted to create a new spring tablescape that wouldn’t break the bank. So I thought, what would be cost-effective, edible and also felt like spring? Citrus! To create my budget-friendly spring tablescape, I ordered a bunch of fresh lemons, citrus and, flowers from Peapod. I think I spent a total of $15 on these things! Since my plates and […]

Mother’s Day Gift Ideas – The Gift Of Relaxation With Mother’s Day just around the corner, it’s time to start thinking of ways to spoil the leading lady in your life. Moms are generally selfless by nature, as soon as us kids arrive in the world, they no longer put themselves first. From that moment on, it’s all about us and I’m not sure if that ever actually ends. Even when we grow up go to college and start having families of our own. I know that rings true with our moms. Now, as we are in our thirties, our moms are still our rocks and the women we look up to most. As Michelle enters motherhood and as I approach it (at some point in the future, no mom I’m not pregnant), we have even more respect for what our moms have done and sacrificed for us. So this year we want to take the time to say thank you to our moms and to make sure we spoil them a little extra. Even though your mom will tell you to not get her a gift and that she only wants to spend time with you (which is totally true […]
