The Crossfit gym is my sanctuary. I look forward to going every day because I can feel myself getting stronger each time I show up and love the stress relief that it gives me after I’m done. For me there is no better feeling than laying on the gym floor after completing a soul crushing workout that leaves you gasping for air and thanking god that it is over. After coming back to Crossfit after an injury last summer, I made it my goal to get stronger so that I would never put my body in danger again. I started working out 3-4 days per week and then I gradually worked my way up to 6-7 days per week and then adding in 2-a-days 3 times per week. I certainly had become much stronger and it showed but did I go too far? After noticing that I was spending more hours of my day at the gym than I was at home or at work, I realized that […]

It’s coming up on one of my favorite days of the year… this day is honestly like a holiday to me and, I suspect, other fashionistas. The problem is, it takes a bit of concentration and (I’m not gonna beat around the bush here because I know that you, dear readers, will understand) psychic ability to discern the exact date. It’s not on any calendar I have and it varies depending on what city (or country) I’m living in, but it like the sun rising each morning it arrives every year. You know how every year, late Indian summer gently turns to early fall. The leaves slowly turn reddish and gold and the morning dog walk has that crispness – a tiny shiver before walking into the sunshine. You briefly consider putting on that cute bomber jacket you just bought, but then it’s only a short walk and your neighbors are sort of scrubs, anyway. You make a mental note: this weekend, it is time. You know what I’m talking about, right? Because you (and I) are not the only ones with this original thought. That weekend, at brunch or shopping at the farmer’s market or out whimsically apple picking […]

Last week one of our absolute favorite jewelry designers, Marrin Costello, came to town and we played dress up in her jewels and chatted over lattes. We were over the moon excited that Marin made the trip all the way from LA to meet us, after numerous emails and phone conversations about collaborating/possible world domination. Here is a sneak peak of the shoot that took place in a cute little nook of Georgetown. Be sure to check back soon for a full post on Marrin Costello and her edgy, fashion-forward baubles! Marrin Costello is featured on Gilt City until April 10th. Click HERE to save over 50% off on her amazing jewelry!! xoxo Sarah and Michelle

Another week has gone by and it hasn’t gotten any warmer in DC. Why is it that every time we sit down to write about spring, we get hit with another winter storm?? Maybe we are jinxing this whole spring thing, maybe it will never actually come our way. If it ever does decide to grace us with its presence then we suggest you look into adding pastels into your wardrobe. Pastels were all over the Spring 2014 Runways. Yes, that means you can finally pull out those gaudy easter outfits that have been haunting the back of your closet for years, Spring 2014 is finally their time to shine. When the snow finally melts you should expect to see lots of placid blues, violet tulips, warm hues of hemlock and shades of sand. All very easy on the eye and simple to add a piece or two into your wardrobe to give you an updated look for the warmer weather.. if it ever comes. And if it doesn’t, we will all be in the market for pale pink ski suits, to keep warm and on trend. Placid Blue: Rebecca Taylor Rosey Pink: Isabel Marant Hemlock: Prabal Gurung Violet: 3.1 […]
