Reunited And It Feels So Good

Being friends for the past 8 years and business partners for the last 2 made it a little rough on the both of us when Michelle got the news she was moving to LA. We knew there would be no more Thursday wine nights, happy hours, shopping dates, blog get togethers and that alone brought both of us to tears. It has taken some adjustment since the move but we still communicate daily, FaceTime and talk on the phone when ever possible which is great but still doesn’t replace our time together. So after a few months of Michelle settling in to her new life in LA, Sarah knew she had to make the trip out west to visit her long lost bestie. So what do besties do?! They wear matching bathing suits to roof top pools. lol. Our friends at Karla Colletto reached out to us at the perfect time, right before Sarah’s trip so that we could try out our new favorite suits together with a drink in hand. While we were in Miami for Fashion week we had the amazing opportunity to check out the debut of Karla Colletto’s Cruise 2015 collection. This unique and creative capsule collection was the perfect collaboration with Washington D.C. based creative agency Design Army. Karla Colletto and creative director Pum Lefebure created the Swim At Your Own Risk capsule collection. They did an absolutely amazing job capturing creative composition with a signature look featuring exquisite construction and high-quality materials. So of course we had to check out the Design Army pool party at the Capitol Skyline Hotel August 22nd, celebrating the exclusive collection. The models were stunning, perfectly capturing a modern, witty and fresh new take on swimwear. The two beauties in the middle are non other than the creative director of Design Army, Pum Lefebure and Kim Thornton of Karla Colletto. “The modern woman is daring, and never shies away from adventure. Designer Spotlight and Interview: Karla Colletto Swimwear

If you have never heard of Karla Colletto and their swimwear line, this is something you might want to read. Since both of us majored in Fashion Design and Merchandising, you can imagine how excited we were when we found out we were given the opportunity to come tour their factory and witness firsthand where the magic happens. They entire operation is done locally in Vienna, Va which gave us all the more reason to support a local designer who is already well known throughout the world and the community. We felt the creative energy as soon as we stepped foot into their facility–from the intricate detail of pattern placement and die cut, to the sewing assembly line and final product. We were already huge fans of Karla Colleto’s designs, but, after speaking with Karla and the team to hear their inspiration and the thought-put behind each individual garment, we grew an even larger appreciation for them. Karla truly makes the one-piece swimsuit sexy in a very flattering way that compliments every shape and size. Definitely a must have in our wardrobe this Summer!
