We hit the vintage jackpot when we came across DC’s premier luxury consignment shop, Ella Rue. The fabulous ladies of Ella Rue have an impeccable eye for collecting both vintage and modern pieces and it shows the second you walk into their store. They know what their customers want and they know how to supply it with the help of fabulous consignors from across the country. Ella Rue is located in the heart of Georgetown and they have grown leaps and bounds since they opened their doors in November of 2010. These fun and energetic ladies will have you hooked, whether you are looking to consign or buy. The sisters behind Ella Rue, Krista and Alexa really take pride in what they do, which is why we wanted to showcase our favorite fall looks from their shop. Knowing the array of styles and designers we would have to choose from didn’t hurt either! We really wanted to challenge ourselves and decided to showcase our favorite vintage/fall looks with a menswear twist. Funny story, last month my husband showed up to a black-tie wedding wearing a khaki linen suit.. Apparently I had forgotten to read the fine print on the bottom of the wedding invitation and he wasn’t too happy with me but after handing him a few whiskeys from the open bar, he seemed to care a lot less. After our epic failure and having received a few similar questions from readers, we wanted to help clarify the many misunderstood wedding dress codes out there and who better to help us with this task then a wedding expert? The Evil Eye: More than just Jewelry

Since I was little I have always been fascinated with Greek mythology – mythical gods who ruled the world and used the Greek islands as their play grounds. Each story has a meaning or lesson, many of which I carry with me to this day. Naturally I was obsessed with the the Evil Eye pieces that I found from Carré Jewelry. The concept of the evil eye is widespread in Mediterranean countries, with its roots planted in ancient Greece. The purpose of the evil eye symbol, also known as the matiasma, is to ward off the effects of the evil eye. To “fight fire with fire” basically if ever an evil eye may fall on to you… I hope I’m covered in this department with the matching Lady Luck necklace and bracelet! Life’s A Beach

Outfit Detials- Top: Hazel, Denim Shorts: Citizens of Humanity (similar); Shoes: Tory Burch; Sunglasses: Ray-ban For Memorial Day weekend the hubby and I packed up the dogs and headed to the beach house we rented with friends for the summer in Ocean City, MD. Living in the DC area, it’s always nice to get away from the madness, get some much needed R&R, have a few brews, a bunch crabs and some rays at the beach. This summer I will be pretty much be living in my bathing suit and whatever else I can throw over it easily. I love this top by Hazel from South Moon Under, the appliqué detail on the front and the twisted rope t-style back make this casual top perfect for summer nights at the beach. I paired it with denim shorts and my favorite Tory Burch wedges to kick it up a notch for cocktails by the bay. If you are packing for a beach vacation this summer, keep it simple and comfortable.
