These Bags Are Not Designer … the real mom life. I have to be honest, I have never been too in to self care, health and wellness until lil’ miss Adaline came about. Grey hair, baggy eyes, dark circles and dried skin have never really been a concern until welllllll … love you baby A, but right about the time she arrived. Working a full time job while still coming home and taking care of her for 4-6 hours each week day has brought about more dark circles and fine lines than I could ever imagine. Im not sure what sleeping in till 6am is like. Who knows if I ever will see that again. Maybe when she’s a teen? Only one can hope. All I know is that my baggy eyes don’t lie, and girl … these bags sure as hell are not designer. “MOMLIFE” is stamped on my forhead for all to be seen, and it’s time to take action. The past month I have really made the EFFORT to put a little more thought in to myself. It has been baby, baby, baby for a year and I have lost track on my own self care. Now that she […]

Just your typical mad for plaid this fall … I love fall and I’m pretty sure I’m not alone here. It’s that crisp feel and change of weather, the festive decorating and anticipation for each holiday, the cozy sweaters and boots galore … there is seriously just so much to toast about. As a new mom adventuring in to her very first season with baby girl, I have been much more cautious of my purchases this fall when I normally go a bit bananas. I need versatility and comfort while not spending a fortune. Because let’s be real … from the events, costumes, decorations and presents (oh boy …the presents), this might be the most expensive season to date. With all the expenses circulating, this doesn’t mean I want to sacrifice fashion which makes fall our all time favorite time. Now of course when I think of fall I immediately think of plaid. It’s the one pattern that is always in fashion this time of year. The print size may change or perhaps the color but it’s one typical trend to invest in as it will for sure be back around the very next year, pinky promise. I found this button down dress […]

I have taken on a whole new meaning for wearing all white… Yes we all know it means purity or the perfect color (or lack of) to wear in the summer to make that tan stand out bright like a rainbow, but now a days I have taken a whole new meaning to wearing all white. It’s my choice of color (again, or lack of color) to wear to hide the tremendous amount of baby spit up and unfortunately vomit that sweet Adaline produces every feeding. More like every burp, but now that she is a little over 3 months it has progressed to just once or twice a feeding. I wear white to cover up that spit up, because to be honest with you I’m tired of changing clothes every feeding. What’s the harm in some spit up if you don’t see it, am I right?! Shhhh. Don’t tell. I had terrrrrrible reflux when I was pregnant. In my third trimester you could find me huddled over the toilet every night because as soon as I laid down my stomach wanted to do the opposite. I never wanted to eat, yet I was always so hungry. Horrible combination. So it’s […]

Nesting Necessities … When I was pregnant I had a lot of informative, experienced mommies tell me what was best to buy and stock up on before baby arrived. I listened to most suggestions, but I got to tell you … it can be quite overwhelming. I mean, how do you know what will really work for your baby that is still growing inside of you?! Now that my little Adaline has finally made her debut, a week and 2 days late (a lil’ extra time for mama to get in some more nesting prep) I have come to my own understanding the necessities I need and what works for baby. I have a few go to sites that I turn to for these essentials. One being the Baby Cubby. What makes them different is that they care about the well being of your baby and YOU! I can’t tell you guys how many times I have felt overwhelmed or discouraged as a parent in the little time that she has been on earth. Is she getting enough food, are her poops irregular, why does she keep sneezing, does she look blue, does she need another diaper change already, is she alive?!?! […]
