Boot Day

It’s coming up on one of my favorite days of the year… this day is honestly like a holiday to me and, I suspect, other fashionistas. The problem is, it takes a bit of concentration and (I’m not gonna beat around the bush here because I know that you, dear readers, will understand) psychic ability to discern the exact date. It’s not on any calendar I have and it varies depending on what city (or country) I’m living in, but it like the sun rising each morning it arrives every year. You know how every year, late Indian summer gently turns to early fall. The leaves slowly turn reddish and gold and the morning dog walk has that crispness – a tiny shiver before walking into the sunshine. You briefly consider putting on that cute bomber jacket you just bought, but then it’s only a short walk and your neighbors are sort of scrubs, anyway. You make a mental note: this weekend, it is time. You know what I’m talking about, right? Because you (and I) are not the only ones with this original thought. NYFW: Beyond The Shows

As we wrap up our Fashion Week posts, we look back on some of our favorite moments of the week. We saw what’s to come for spring, attended fun parties, spotted celebrities, caught up with old friends and made some new ones. Being the last NYFW post of the series, we thought we would share what took place beyond the shows at Lincoln Center. As new members of Reward Style, we were beyond thrilled to be invited to their exclusive blogger party held on the rooftop at The Empire Hotel. For those who don’t know, Reward Style is a web-tool that helps top-tier style bloggers monetize content, long story short–they help us get paid!! They threw one hell of a party where they served up crafty cocktails, we mingled with good company and something all bloggers love- they gave out SWAG! A Night at The Arlington County Fair

Martasand A Night At The Arlington County Fair Funnel cakes, cotton candy and sugary lemonade are just a few reasons why we look forward to the county fair each year. It’s a time where we can throw our inhibitions out the window and indulge in all of the gluttony surrounding us. Living in walking distance of the Arlington County Fair makes it almost a cardinal sin not to visit the local staple on an annual basis. We started off with a fresh squeezed lemonade from the vintage-esque stand, it gave us just the sugar rush we were looking for and we were off to test the rides and games.
