					<description><![CDATA[<p>STK is officially open for business right here in our nation&#8217;s capital! They are located in the Dupont Circle offering a one-of-a-kind, high-end dining and chic lounge experience. If you are looking for a sexy, sophisticated hotspot with #unmiSTKable food this is the place to be seen. What sets them apart from other traditional steakhouses is their vibe-driven atmosphere with inspired cocktails and DJs spinning nightly to create an energetic, night life vibe through out the entire place. As you can imagine, we were beyond excited to be invited to a private dinner before the official grand opening party on Thursday to taste the menu. We went in with empty stomachs and left full and completely satisfied, anxious for the grand opening! We started with the Tuna Tartar and Foie Gras French Toast. Both were amazing but the Foie Gras French Toast definitely stood out from anything we have ever tried with green apple, almond brioche and sherry gastrique. As anticipated, steak is the main attraction &#8211; so of course we both ordered the filet. I choose the béarnaise sauce which was the perfect combination and added even more flavor to the perfect steak. 					<description><![CDATA[<p>Can I say I love being married? Marriage has many perks of course but since I now have wifey status it seems I am now invited to a few more cool events with the hubby.  Last week Casey and I were invited to an amazing private event at the new Greek restaurant Kapnos, owned by Top Chef Mike Isabella. The event was hosted by Time Warner Cable and let me tell you they went all out on this one, they even shut the place down for the night. The free flowing magical cocktails, the abundance of passed hors d&#8217;oeuvres, the five course family style dinner, and a wine pairing for each course made for an unforgettable evening. My favorite cocktail of the night: Mustachio: made with pisco porton, house made ginger beer, luxardo marachino, angostura bitters, lime  Mike Isabella gave us a live demonstration on how to make the perfect spanakopita (spinach pie). I think I may attempt this at home, except the whole making my own phyllo dough part. That seems overly ambitious.
