90’s Inspired Trends: Layered Slip Dress As you know, the 90’s are having a serious moment right now, form plaid skirts and high waist jeans to chokers and chunky platform shoes. Like most trends of the past they make their way back around. Some for the best others could do is all a favor and stay forever in history like plucked to death eyebrows. That unfortunately I’m guilty of and never want to relive. Smh. I have to yet to try the layering slip dress trend inspired by the good ol’ 90’s and of course wanted to give it a whirl. I don’t believe I actually ever even wore this look in the 90’s but Im in to it now. I mean, the concept is great, being able to wear a sexy slip dress but toning it down with slim tees or barely there knits underneath makes it so much more versatile. This dress has been given a transitional season makeover in the most comfortable way possible. I’m all about comfort these days. NYFW Spring Trend Report

As NYFW virgins, you can only imagine our excitement to even have received invites to go to some of these shows! When you are a NYFW newbie, you do not receive seats next to Anna Wintour or Chiara Ferragni (sadly) so for most of the shows, we had standing tickets or seats towards the back of the tent which made for some terrible pictures. We learned an insider tip a few days in, which was to stand in “The Pit” with all of the professional photogs, we may have looked a bit out of place in our 6″ stilettos and giant designer bags but we captured some great shots from there on out! We know it may be hard to think about Spring Fashion when we have barely entered Fall but we have to report about what we saw on the runways and what you should expect for the season to come. This may come in handy when you are going through some of your spring/summer pieces and wondering what to get rid of and what to hold on to. The Best of Miami Swim Week

Big hair, snakes, barely there suits, celebrities and steamy temps are just a few words to describe what we experienced at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim 2015 this past week in Miami. This was our first time attending Swim Week and we are sure it won’t be our last since it was quite the experience. We attended pretty much every show and after party that was held at The Raleigh Hotel which left little down time to eat or sleep, so as you can imagine we are a tad bit exhausted. So sorry for the late share! Below are a few of our favorite “stand out” runway moments that we had to share with you right away. Who doesn’t love a Britney Moment? We Are Handsome nailed it. A.Z Araujo show was the most entertaining by far. We loved the variety of shapes and sizes to all different ages of beautiful models walk that walk. Even Adriana de Moura from The Real Housewives of Miami strutted her stuff on the runway! Mara Hoffman never disappoints. Her new collection was inspired by her recent travels to Guatemala with a fresh take marrying bold prints on one side and striking solids on the other. 52 Thursdays Celebrates Fashion For Paws 2014

We were very fortunate to both attend Fashion for Paws this year which was held at the Omni Shoreham Hotel. You can always count us in for charity events especially when animals are involved! For those of you who have not heard of this runway show, it is a nationally acclaimed luxury brand event to help benefit the Washington Humane Society. The models who walk in the show agree to raise a minimum of $5,000 in just 10 weeks leading up to the event by taking part in a friendly fundraising competition. They are the bread and butter of this amazing fundraiser. We had so much fun watching these models strut down the aisle with their pups by their side, wearing the latest pieces that DC’s local luxury retailers carry. They were able to raise over $404k by the end of it all AND helped numerous sheltered doggies find forever homes that night! Such a fun event to attend, combining our two favorite things…fashion and dogs! Brilliant idea.
