Valentine’s day shouldn’t just be about the lovers and couples, because let’s be honest not everyone is bunned up this time of year. We love any excuse to celebrate our true loves but of course, we can’t forget about our select and few, true friendships. This Valentine’s Day we wanted to take the day to relax, unwind and celebrate Galentine’s Day at the elegant Mandarin Oriental located in the heart of the US Capital. Michelle was back home in DC for a short period of time to shower baby girl with her friends and family. We took advantage of this time to catch up and get some R&R while doing so. We started our day off doing what we love doing the most – shopping. We visited our favorite local shop, South Moon Under and picked up some goodies to wear to our lunch date at the Muze to begin our Galentine’s Day retreat. We, of course, went over blog related topics and then moved on to catching each other up on love, life and anything and everything in between. The Perfect Holiday Party Dress… Holiday party season is in full swing and I couldn’t be more excited. The thoughts of spiked egg nog, Christmas cookies and Mariah Cary blasting puts me in a special place. I mean, how can you have a bad time at a party where you are surrounded by all of your best friends, endless booze and all the food that you shouldn’t eat but will anyway? Yeah, it’s down right impossible. But a holiday party wouldn’t be complete without some sort of festive attire to go along with it. So when you aren’t headed to the tacky holiday bash and actually have to look presentable, then I suggest you pick up a red lace number like this one I scored from South Moon Under. I mean, isn’t it everything? Let me apologize in advance to anyone who has invited me to a holiday party this year, chances are I will be wearing this dress. Greek Adventure Part 1: Mykonos

Poets, Playwrights and Photographers have been trying and failing to capture the beauty of the Greek Islands for thousands of years. Mykonos and Santorini are islands that must be seen, smelled, tasted and experienced. I demand that everyone put them on your bucket lists and someday visit yourself but in the mean time I will try to pick up where the classics fell short and share the best, worst, the tame and the wild that we found in Greece, starting with Mykonos. The flight was AWFUL, my absent minded husband wrote the wrong date of departure on his calendar and when he got the check in reminder a day earlier than he thought we were to depart, we had a total freak out. But after a flurry of packing, rushing to the airport and making our flight by just a few minutes, we ended up sitting on the tarmac for over an hour before taking off, resulting in a missed connection in Amsterdam. KLM then inexplicably re-routed us through Geneva and eventually on to Athens where we had to re-purchase our tickets to Mykonos because our flight had already left us. And they lost my luggage.
