Packing for fashion week is no joke. You never know who you are going to see or meet and you always want to look your best. Unlike New York Fashion Week, Swim Week is held annually in Miami in the midst of summer. Not sure who or why they decided to hold Swim Week in the hottest destination during the hottest month in summer but hey, at least they have really good mojitos right? So when packing, you have to take the extreme heat into account and make sure that you are able to wear something that is fashion forward, comfortable and wont make you sweat like a pig. Having learned the hard way last year with some sweat-tastic outfit choices, we knew that this year had to get it right, our deodorant depended on it. With all of our concerns in mind we headed to South Moon Under, which has always been a go to store of ours. We frequently shop there for everyday outfits, gifts and they have the best swimwear and cover-up selection in the DMV area. The Shore Club: A Hidden Gem in Miami

Miami has always had a little piece of our hearts. We both celebrated our bachelorette parties there and it is also where we attended our first fashion shows with the blog. It’s the perfect spot for a girls trip or just a get away with your significant other. Plus, it’s super easy to get to from DC. Since we are seasoned Miami regulars and have stayed in many of the hotels along the strip, this time we decided to try a hotel we had been eyeing since our first Miami trip. The Shore Club is a cute little boutique hotel that is tucked away from the madness even though it is located right on Collins Ave. The vibe is chill, which is a nice change of pace since much of Miami is loud and a bit crazy. The Shore Club Hotel doesn’t feel like a generic chain hotel. From the open spaced modern rooms to the outside decor and lounge areas, you feel like you are staying in a little hidden gem in South Beach. Miami Swim Week Recap 2015

Photo taken at The Mondrain Hotel South Beach Swim Week made such an impression on us last year that we had to go back for round two and this time around we brought our friend Natalie along from The Fashionably Broke. Swim week is much different from New York Fashion Week, it takes place in Miami and the vibe is way more laid back and you are actually able to rub elbows with designers, models and celebrities. We were practically besties with Mara Hoffman and her family by the end of the trip since they were also staying at The Shore Club (highly recommended btw- more on our stay there later). Clearly she has good taste. We also spotted Brody Jenner, Natasha Oakley, Shea Marie, Leanne Rimes and Eddie Cibrian throughout our time in Miami which was definitely a high point of the trip. Shea Marie of our favorite blog Peace Love Shea and her gorgeous new line SAME SWIM Unlike New York Fashion Week, the shows take place by the most fabulous hotel pools and cocktails are also usually involved (huge plus).
