NYFW: Beyond The Shows

As we wrap up our Fashion Week posts, we look back on some of our favorite moments of the week. We saw what’s to come for spring, attended fun parties, spotted celebrities, caught up with old friends and made some new ones. Being the last NYFW post of the series, we thought we would share what took place beyond the shows at Lincoln Center. As new members of Reward Style, we were beyond thrilled to be invited to their exclusive blogger party held on the rooftop at The Empire Hotel. For those who don’t know, Reward Style is a web-tool that helps top-tier style bloggers monetize content, long story short–they help us get paid!! They threw one hell of a party where they served up crafty cocktails, we mingled with good company and something all bloggers love- they gave out SWAG! To answer the question you are all thinking, no the swag bags did not include the Louboutins and Prada bag pictured above (wishful thinking) but they were uber generous! NYFW Spring Trend Report

As NYFW virgins, you can only imagine our excitement to even have received invites to go to some of these shows! When you are a NYFW newbie, you do not receive seats next to Anna Wintour or Chiara Ferragni (sadly) so for most of the shows, we had standing tickets or seats towards the back of the tent which made for some terrible pictures. We learned an insider tip a few days in, which was to stand in “The Pit” with all of the professional photogs, we may have looked a bit out of place in our 6″ stilettos and giant designer bags but we captured some great shots from there on out! We know it may be hard to think about Spring Fashion when we have barely entered Fall but we have to report about what we saw on the runways and what you should expect for the season to come. This may come in handy when you are going through some of your spring/summer pieces and wondering what to get rid of and what to hold on to. This is also a great time to score some of these trends if you haven’t already, since they are on super sale at the moment! […]

Gargagliano Christmas Vacation

For my mom’s birthday this year we gave her a trip to New York City to celebrate, so we loaded up a minivan full of 6 adults + 1 toddler and we drove up to the big city Griswold Christmas Vacation Style. Surprisingly we made it there in one piece and under 5 hours..so that was a win. We had a day and a half in the city so we made the most of our short time there, we saw the Rockettes at Radio City Music Hall, had the best dinner ever at Quality Italian, got a peak of the Today Show and the tree in Rockefeller Center and did a little shopping at FAO Schwarz. Absolutely nothing beats Christmas time in New York City. Here are a few pictures of the “Gargagliano Christmas Vacation”. Merry Christmas! Sarah P
