High summer style, get it while it’s HOT … literally. Crazy to think that we are half way through the summer with fall right around the corner. (I know … “don’t remind me”) Why is that everyone talks about how they never want summer to end but then rave about fall fashion and they can’t wait to wear booties and a cozy sweater till we are all freezing our asses off in February waiting for the next season. We love fall style just as much as the next girl but let’s be honest summer is the easiest season to dress for so you can’t hate too much on it. Let’s embrace it! Not a lot of effort and thought is required to pass off a cute summer look. I like to think of it as our cheat season. School’s out for summer so instead of racking your brain on what to wear, just think of the necessities; sandals or a cute pair of wedges, a hat to cool you off and an easy throw on dress or off the shoulder top and light bottom. Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

Don’t walk … run … literally because the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale ends tomorrow!! I swear I have gone to Nordstrom every week since the early access sale started and each time I have found something new, it’s becoming an addiction so I’m kind of relieved that prices go back up tomorrow. This army green Wayf dress- yes it’s a dress that I wore as a top- is by far my favorite purchase from the sale. As you can see it’s quite versatile and perfect for that awkward Summer to Fall transitional period. You know that time when Fall product has hit stores and you start to get super antsy to throw on some boots, dark hues and layers but then you step outside and forget that it’s 98 degrees out. So for now I’ll stick to some cut off shorts or wear as a dress alone but look forward to pairing it with some over the knee boots and a leather jacket in just a few months. Cabin Fever

I guess Cabin Fever may not be the best title, more like the opposite of just that. I have been sitting back in LA, with the fan blowing directly on me as the temperature has been reaching mid-90s, observing my friends and family back home on the East Coast enjoying the cool, brisk, fall weather. I was jealous, sad, hot – I had to get out and find me a piece of fall. A heaven, somewhere where the foliage is prominent, the air is brisk and the view is perfection. My little family (hubs, fur baby and I) packed our bags and set off for a weekend get away. Our destination was in Northern California at the cutest cabin that sat on the side of a mountain in Twain Harte, just an hour or so out from Yosemite National Park. We left on a Friday and got caught in terrible LA traffic due to unexpected mudslides which delayed us about 4 hours … but 9.5 hours later, we made it!
