Horses have always been a big part of my life. I grew up on a small horse farm in Warrenton, Va where I was fortunate enough to learn to ride at a very young age. I think as soon as I was walking, I was on a pony. As soon as I was capable, I was helping with the barn chores and taking care of the horses. After school I would go for a ride; weekends were filled with horse shows and Summer’s full of pony camps. I have so many fond memories growing up around horses and a few painful ones too. Like the time I broke my arm after being bucked off my pony named Tony, or the time Sadie threw me into a fence. There were many many spills, feet stomped on, bitten arms but I know those unfond memories only made me stronger. I always had to get right back on after my falls and face my fear. Having horses taught me so much growing up, responsibility, a strong work ethic, competitiveness, how to be a part of a team, how to work with animals and how to be friends with them too. . My last […]

Have you ever put together an outfit that makes you feel damn good? You know the one that puts a little extra pep in your step? This was one of those outfits for me. I went out on a mission to find the perfect look for my 32nd birthday (ugh I’m old), something fun, yet still sort of age appropriate and after scouring most stores are the mall found everything I was looking for at Free People. For some reason that store just gets me, it’s relaxed boho/hippie vibe resonates with me. So I am sure you have noticed that the lace up trend is definitely a thing. I must admit, I was a little hesitant of trying it out when it first appeared but I had a change of heart after a recent visit to Free People. I spotted this blue print top and even though the plunging neckline made me a bit nervous I decided to give a try anyway. After I found the right bra to go along with it, I felt much more comfortable with the deep V. I paired it up with a patch-work suede skirt and I had a match made in birthday heaven. Which […]

The more time I spend in my workout gear, the more I tend to make my fashion choices around comfort. I used to prance around town in 6 inch stilettos just to run errands and now I can hardly bear the thought of putting on a pair of ankle boots for a night out on the town. Boy have things changed! It may be my age, wisdom or the pure pain that my feet were feeling but I now gravitate towards outfits that are geared around my comfort level. Lately I have been putting together no-fuss looks that I can run around town in to visit my clients but also keep my style game on point. Because why shouldn’t you have the best of both worlds?! I love this sweatshirt because it plays on my sporty vibe but the gold zipper detail makes it stand out above a basic old sweatshirt. Pair it with a simple pair of white jeans, a cute pair of sneakers and you have an easy going look that will take you from errands to lunch with the girls! Sarah is wearing: Top (She In), White Denim (Articles of Society), Sneakers (Nike ID), Sunglasses (She In), and Handbag […]

It’s no secret that I like to shop and have way more clothing than I could ever need but there aren’t that many articles of clothing that truly excite me on their own. Of course I love a great pair of jeans, a cozy sweater and a great pair of leggings but on most days these pieces are just things to wear to a meeting, out to drinks or to the gym. I may own two closets and dressers full of clothing but most of these pieces bore me after a wear or two, either I find a reason why I don’t like them anymore or I find something better. I guess you can say I have wardrobe commitment issues. Out of my entire wardrobe I can only think of 4 items that I wear over and over again. My mesh leggings by Lululemon, Chanel Boy Bag, Stuart Weitzman over the knee boots and this little black dress by Free People. All of these pieces are stand out on their own but even better when paired with the perfect complimentary pieces. This mini dress caught my eye on a recent trip to Free People and I immediately knew it had to come home […]
