Summer has gone as quickly as it arrived. While we had an amazing and impactful summer, we can’t help looking forward to a relaxing, laid-back fall. There is just so much to love about these autumn days; the crisp weather, Halloween treats, outdoor activities and of course a chance to show off our cozy sweaters and layered looks. In no particular order, here are the five fall things Sarah and I are most excited about this year: 1. VA Wineries Nothing beats fall in Virginia—changing leaves, hayrides, apple picking and, of course, Virginia wine! Whenever we can, we escape the city and head out to the country for a little R&R and to sample the many local wineries. The wine is delicious and the views can’t be beat. A few of our favorite stops on the VA wine trail are Chester Gap, Chateau O’brien, Barrel Oak, La Grange and Rappahannock Cellars. If a trip to the local wineries isn’t already on your calendar this fall, it’s not too late to start planning! 2. Outdoor Running Fall provides the PERFECT outdoor running weather. With our busy schedules, running is a quick and efficient workout fix. Now that the temps are finally beginning to drop and the mornings and […]

For my birthday, my husband Phil put together a “Whose wine is it anyway??” party. Everyone brought a bottle of wine of their choice which we numbered upon their arrival and posted on the cork board by guest, year of wine and where it came from. As we mingled we all had an opportunity to read each bottle and smell the corks and wine to help. Phil then poured us all a small portion of each wine, out of order as we tried to guess…..”whose wine is it anyway?” At the end of the night Phil tallied up the scores and chose a winner based on who had the most right. We gave the winner a fun wine gadget to take home as well. Mucho gracias to the Hubby for putting this together. It’s such an easy (and affordable) theme that can be used for any kind of get together!! Try it out and let us know your twist on the idea!! Phil is creative but not always in the arts and crafts so we would love to see what you guys can come up with! xo Michelle
