Thread at Union Market

This weekend, Michelle and I went to check out the first ever Thread event at Union Market in DC.  First of all, if you have never been to Union Market, you must get in your car and drive there as quickly as possible. Not only does this unique market have some of the hottest restaurants, good booze and cute shops but they also have a farmers market on the weekends.  My absolute favorite thing to eat at Union Market are the korean tacos from Takorean, you have to try the Bulgogi Taco with Kimchi Slaw (you can thank me later).  But I might not be seeing them as often as usual because my all time favorite ramen shop, Toki Underground, has a Pop-Up-Shop set up there for the next month.   If you see a blonde chick  slurping ramen in the corner..odds are that will be me.

Enough about food, let’s talk about Thread.  Thread was located upstairs (above the market) from Friday to Sunday this past weekend. Carefully selected designers and retailers were invited to set up shop in this super hip space to sell their unique products.  Below are pictures and links to my favorite designers and shops, some of them are still running cyber monday deals so click and shop away! I heard a rumor that Thread could be a quarterly event for Union Market and I hope this is true because you just can’t find this kind of attention to detail and personal touch from designers at your local mall.

The most amazing knit scarves and gloves you have ever seen designed by DeNada.

Emily Cho’s handbags and clutches were bright and fun (Spring ’14). All hand crafted in Italy with the finest leathers.

Salt and Sundry featured tons of cute bar items, I picked up a few items for gifts for friends.

A few items from Men’s Clothier, Mutiny DC.

Meg Biram had the cutest shop set up, these were a few of my favorite items.

Green Hat Gin, DC’s finest! They were doing tastings and mixing up cocktails for shoppers. We of course snagged a cocktail while we shopped.
