When it comes to my skin there are two people I trust, my dermatologist and Sarah Akram. Working in this field, I’ve been blessed with many invitations to local spas to try out treatments. While they are all relaxing and most of them have been wonderful experiences, I’ve never walked away with results like what I see when I leave Sarah Akram’s office. There is so much noise in the skincare field telling us what treatments we should be doing, what injections to get and what products you need to be slathering on our faces so it’s very important to find someone you trust with your skin. After trying and testing out most of the top spas in the area, it’s safe for me to say that I think that Sarah Akram is the best in the DMV, if not the entire country. Not only because you see major results when you leave but it’s because she listens to your skincare concerns and personalizes your facial to YOU! A new mom’s appreciation this Mother’s Day. As a new mom, I have a whole new appreciation for Mother’s Day. It was a day to send flowers and a sweet note to my mom reminding her how much I love and appreciate her but I don’t think I grasped how much my mom has done and given up in order to put me first. But this mother’s day will be different … forever. Since Adaline entered the world exactly 2 weeks ago, my life has been turned upside down, for the best, but nonetheless upside down. Restless nights, baby brain to the max, a very messy home, loads of laundry, lots of dirty diapers and a whole lot of pumping and feeding. The week before I gave birth, my mom and I were out and about, shopping and dining out as much as we could to pass the time while we waited for baby girl’s past due date arrival. And just like that, this sweet little girl entered my life and my perspective on life and what’s important has completely reorganized.
