About a year ago I was approached by a college student named Emma to take my photos. She asked me to meet her at a coffee shop in DC and that we would take some photos for her portfolio and for my blog. I was optimistic as I have done a few of these meet ups where the sessions don’t quite go as I had planned. But things were different with Emma, she was a bit shy but when she got behind the camera, the girl knew what she wanted and she made it happen. After getting our first set of images back, I knew that I had found my girl. Not only did she get my esthetic, she knew how to tell a story through the images. I admit, blogging is a strange occupation. I know that taking photos of my brunch before letting my friends eat can get slightly annoying for everyone involved and I get my fair share of funny looks as I perfectly stage my latte for a snap.
