Like most moms, I of course committed to taking monthly photos of my baby girl for a number of reasons. (A) I love taking photos of her. I’m surprised my phone hasn’t exploded from baby photo overload. (B) I love celebrating her little milestones and watching her grow. Each month, I look back and think of everything she has achieved, learned and accomplished. This month … her two front teeth! And (C) something most moms probably won’t outwardly admit … it’s another month that both mommy and baby have survived … I need documentation! Seriously though, it’s tough stuff being a mom and I’m sure it’s even more difficult being a baby! I have a whole new appreciation for all mom’s and I completely get why making mom friends is so important. You have to, NEED to talk about babies and share and take in any tips and suggestions another mom may have. You never know what will help and impact baby. Now that baby girl is 5 months old, I have started to seriously re-evaluate her surroundings and our living set up. She isn’t crawling yet but since I’m back to work, time is limited and I wanted to prep for her soon […]

It’s play time! My baby girl is officially 3 months old! Crazy to believe as the past few moths have been a bit of a blur. Every day I’m given a new obstacle to overcome, but every day I’m blessed to wake up to her sweet smile and a new milestone to celebrate. Her personality is truly blossoming as the giggles roll in and play time is feeling more like play time, not just monitoring her tummy time. She loves peek a boo and looooooves to babble. We can go back and forth grunting and growling at each other. She also loves to gnaw on anything and everything she can get her hands on but her Sophie is her main squeeze at the moment, literally. I just wish she could learn to hold on to the dang thing for more than 5 minutes! Now that she is beginning to play more and interact with toys, I knew I needed a play area in the nursery so I did a little revamp. I added this adorable round pink rug and toy basket from Lorena Canals to keep up with my baby girl’s lil’ milestones. We spend most of our days right here, reading books, babbling, tummy […]

Think Pink as this wall has me feeling like a little girl in a candy shop. Bubble gum, lolli pops, cotton candy, and all the sweet sugary stuff that my parents tried so hard not to give to an already high-strung child. As a little one (i.e. until I graduated from College) I always had a problem of consuming way too much candy. I’ve learned my lessons after a few root canals, cavities, and fillings, now I’m much better with my addiction 😉 There is one trend that has made a come back that really brings back fun, childhood memories which is the matching set look. My mom used to always dress my sister and I in not only matching color coordinated outfits but matching sets as well. I may not have been a fan of that back then but I’m loving the concept now. I mean who wouldn’t want an already matching set that you can mix and match with other pieces creating so many effortless, alternative outfits. This matching set is the perfect example. The shorts are high waisted, so pairing it with a white crop top and a denim jacket will give it more of a laid back look. For night, I […]

Do you guys remember a few years ago, when everybody—no, literally everybody—was rocking the Juicy Couture velour tracksuit? You know what I’m talking about? The one with “JUICY” emblazoned on the backside? That is, if you were “hip” enough to grab the original. Later the trend came to encompass bottoms that advertised “PINK,” “RUTGERS,” “ED HARDY” or assorted other brands on the asses of America. That tracksuit was fashion poison, and of course I had one two a few. In assorted colors. That I wore with Uggs. Because of course I did…and when I walked down the street I felt in style, trendy, hip—generally awesome. Until I one day I realized that, regardless of how “in” they were and what celebrities were wearing them, velour pants looked awful on me. Especially, (but not exclusively) velour pants that could comfortably fit five 4-inch tall letters with room to spare across my rear end. But if we’re honest with ourselves, that happens every season, right? A trend catches fire and produces the “it” item. Before we know it, some sort of noxious fashion fumes overcome us and we find ourselves obsessed with buying something that is so in, so on-trend, that we forget to think about whether […]
