Back To School Nostalgia

As I scroll through my Instagram and Facebook feed I can’t help but feel a bit of nostalgia as I see all my mommy friends sending their lil’ kiddos off to their first days back to school. With their cute lil’ book bags packed and ready to go, loaded with snacks and school supplies while their parents quietly break down in tears that their baby is growing up too fast. In my case it’s not back to school but back to work I go! And it’s the hubby quietly breaking down in tears as I leave him to fend for his own with baby girl. I was on maternity leave for 4 months which were 4 of the most challenging yet most joyful and rewarding months of my life. With countless, sleepless nights wondering how on earth I would even function during the day. Luckily, her sweet smiles and developing personality kept me going, that and a shit load of coffee. Find THE right one for YOU with Sassoon Salon … I’ve always compared finding the right salon to finding the right partner in your life. Once you find them, you can never let them go. The search to find the right match can be a real struggle. We all go through unfortunately many trials and errors with an array of emotions and of course the occasional heart break. Fortunately for me, I found my salon and the search is over. I have been going to Sassoon Salon in Beverly Hills for about 2 years now and have only had good experiences. The entire staff has always been so warm and welcoming. From the friendly receptionists at the front to the talented stylists and colorists, David and Karen. The entire team listens to what I have to say and offers opinions, tips and realistic suggestions to best treat and care for my hair. I feel so blessed to have moved to LA and to have found a salon with a staff that gets me and most importantly, gets my hair. My hair has never felt as healthy as it does now. Life’s A Beach

Outfit Detials- Top: Hazel, Denim Shorts: Citizens of Humanity (similar); Shoes: Tory Burch; Sunglasses: Ray-ban For Memorial Day weekend the hubby and I packed up the dogs and headed to the beach house we rented with friends for the summer in Ocean City, MD. Living in the DC area, it’s always nice to get away from the madness, get some much needed R&R, have a few brews, a bunch crabs and some rays at the beach. This summer I will be pretty much be living in my bathing suit and whatever else I can throw over it easily. I love this top by Hazel from South Moon Under, the appliqué detail on the front and the twisted rope t-style back make this casual top perfect for summer nights at the beach. I paired it with denim shorts and my favorite Tory Burch wedges to kick it up a notch for cocktails by the bay. If you are packing for a beach vacation this summer, keep it simple and comfortable. Shift-Work

This spring we are loving neutral and soft shades that are easy on the eye and easy to wear as well. Living in the DC area we lead pretty busy lifestyles; from going to work, straight to a dinner meeting/happy hour and sometimes we don’t get home until 10pm and we are ready to crash! On long days like these we opt to wear something chic yet comfortable; may we introduce you to the almighty shift dress. Shift dresses are perfect to wear during the warmer weather and can easily go from day to night with a quick change of shoes and accessories. Shift dresses have been popular since the 60’s and still are to this day due to their loose fitting and forgiving silhouettes. Be sure to find one with the right length as some shifts can be unflattering and overwhelming if too long but easily fixed with a simple hem.
