I turn 31 today. A number I thought I would cringe to see on my birthday cake, but so far it’s not so bad. In fact, it’s the reason I am writing my very first birthday blog post. I wanted to share with you my highs and lows of last year but most importantly why I am so grateful to be here and why 31 really is just a number. This time last year … the BIG 3-0 …my husband had planned an elaborate birthday dinner for me but unfortunately I came down with the flu and homemade chicken noodle soup was the highlight of my night. As I am writing this, ironically enough it is 8:16pm on a Sunday and my husband is passed out in bed next to me from night time tylenol flu. I clearly have had a lot of time on my hands this evening to stop and reflect upon life at 30. It has been a good year. I’ve progressed in areas, found new success, and traveled to new places. However, it has been one of my hardest years to date. I began my 30’s with a lot of change and all at once: I moved across country – […]

We’ve already decoded wedding guest dress codes but with the holidays quickly approaching and the soirees beginning to make their way in to our inboxes, we thought it would be fun to de-code the different holiday event dress codes. From a casual holiday work party to a formal gala in the city, we have got you covered along with some fun tips to help you shine with confidence. Thanks to Rent the Runway for helping us find the perfect frock no matter what time of year it is. They seriously have the best selection around and we are always able do find the perfect dress for any occasion we are attending. The best part is that you can rent these designer gowns for a fraction of what they would normally cost. Because lets get real, we only end up wearing those expensive dresses once or twice anyway. So why not rent a different dress for each event you are attending? Shop/rent the exact looks we wore under each occasion or visit the nearest boutique (Georgetown!!) near you to have a personal stylist dress you for the next big event!

We are officially in wedding season, our Instagram and Facebook feeds are spewing with pics from gorgeous brides in their white dresses, DIY decor, beautiful cakes, the list goes on. Watching happy couples exchange their vows on a day they’ll never forget is the perfect excuse for playing dress up. And now that the Supreme Court has finally legalized same sex marriage we have even more love to celebrate! For those of you who are attending a wedding(s) this season and are in need of some styling advice, I have compiled a quick guide on Wedding Guest Dress Code. I used Rent the Runway to help find my perfect dresses. They are so efficient and easy to use with endless options to for any occasion choose from – whether it be a black tie formal event or a beach wedding in the Bahamas, there is something for everyone. With weddings coming and going, buying a dress for every occasion just doesn’t make sense – that and I don’t any more room in my closet to squeeze even a t-shirt, so this service is everything. Let’s break down the main Wedding Guest Dress Codes by cutting the corners and decoding the different dress codes. […]

My cousin Julia got married to the man of her dreams in Carmel Valley this past weekend, which meant… road trip! Not just any road trip, we cruised the Pacific Coast Highway, both ways. The drive on the Pacific Coast Highway isn’t like the typical east coast highways that I’m accustomed to. This road trip was fun packed with wineries, elephant seal watching, chin dropping cliff views and just a constant beautiful, open scenic view the entire drive. Not saying that the 7, 8…9 hours (I lost track) wasn’t a long time but a few pit stops sure helped pass the time. What brought me the most joy on this trip was to see my all family together. My immediate family on the East Coast that I have missed the dearest and my Nor Cal family, whom brought us all together. It was such a blessing. If you happen to be traveling along the Pacific Coast Highway be sure to check out all the places we did! There is much more to see but we brought the fur baby along, so we were limited to some of the attractions. Hearst Castle is next on the list, no fur babies allowed on the premises.
