Exploring San Francisco … A few weeks back we made our way up to San Francisco for a little family reunion. Something you may not know about me, but most of my family lives in northern California. My mom and dad actually met, fell in love and graduated from San Francisco Sate University. Shortly after my dad began his journey in the military. 10 moves later, we now call Virginia home. However San Fransisco, has always been my second home. It brings back the fondest memories of when I was little, visiting my family and feeling right at home. Playing softball with my cousins, shopping with my grandmother and stealing candy at of my grandpa’s candy drawer are just to name a few. So when my parents planned a trip back to their hometown for my dad’s high school reunion, we jumped at the opportunity to pack up and fly up north for an extended nostalgic weekend. A Trip Down 95 to RVA

My husband and I took a trip down 95 to RVA to met up with some old college friends for the weekend. That, coupled with the fall weather, had me reminiscing about those care free days when I would throw on a college hoody, skinny jeans and a pair of Uggz. Yes, I know how cliché that is and I’m not going to lie…I still own a pair and still wear those Uggz when I walkthe fur-baby below 30 degrees. Don’t judge. Well as I mentioned, the overcast skies, scattered showers and brisk, cool weather in Richmond made for perfect cozy, sweater weather. My favorite go to in the fall now is a silk or denim button down shirt layered under a chunky knit sweater. This simple combo creates an effortless element to any fall look and if the weather brings a surprise warm up, you just shed a layer! I added my new joie crepe joggers to complete the look which was perfect since they are incredibly comfortable and perfect for weekends like this. San Francisco!

I had to fly out to San Francisco last week for work and fortunate for me was able to make it a mini vaca seeing family and spending time with the hubs! Below was the view from our hotel room. We stopped by Marshall Town and ate their infamous oysters at the Marshall Store. I’m not a big sea food fan…like at all… but these were amazing! Def worth checking out if you are in the area. My Dad is a huge Giants fan and my husband is a huge Braves fan, so of course we had to go to the Giants and Braves game Fri. night. Poor Phil…the night did not end in his favor. Nappa Valley!! Such an amazing time spent with good company in gorgeous weather and amazing scenery. And of course, if you know me at all, I do enjoy a nice glass of wine…or two. My cousin and I at Cakebread vineyard. My favorite out of all the wineries we went to. Had to check out Mumm’s and taste their fine selection of champagne.
