Vogue x Kit & Ace It was all a dream…I used to read Vogue Magazine. Ok, I might have switched that up a bit for the sake of this article but it seemed fitting. I was shocked recently when I received an email from Vogue asking Michelle and I if we were interested in hosting a party with Vogue and Kit and Ace. Immediately I was sure that there was some mistake, a mix-up of some sorts and that they were reaching out to the wrong girls or that one of our friends were playing an epic prank on us. I mean, the magazine that we have grown up reading and loving just sent us an email asking to host a party with them? It didn’t seem real but of course, we responded in hopes that it was. After realizing that it was in fact legit and after Michelle and I had stopped freaking out, we got to planning. Unfortunately, Michelle wasn’t able to make it all the way back from LA for the event but she sent her well wishes and excitement and I kept her updated via Snapchat and text the entire time. First up was the guest […]

If you’re reading this, it’s probably because you love style and fashion. Maybe you love dresses, especially? Or specifically Diane von Furstenburg dresses? Can you remember when you fell in love with those dresses? Do you recall what started you on the sometimes heartbreaking and often bank account breaking fashion road? Here’s my story: I was raised in the racks of Loehmann’s (R.I.P.). This was back in the day – before we became spoiled with outlets and eBay. This was when Loehmann’s was the only (magical!) place you could buy designer clothes at a bit of a discount. Thousands of items hung squished together on enormous racks, but because it was so heavily discounted, the brands didn’t want their presence there known so designers made the store cut the tags out of their clothes. Imagine for a moment, walking into a store filled with both good stuff and garbage, and not having any obvious clues about what was Chanel and what was Anne Klein. Of course, I was six so I just ran headfirst into enormous piles of sweaters and giggled. But for my mom – the most stylish woman I’ve ever met –shopping was therapy. I remember her carefully, methodically, […]

If you have never heard of Karla Colletto and their swimwear line, this is something you might want to read. Since both of us majored in Fashion Design and Merchandising, you can imagine how excited we were when we found out we were given the opportunity to come tour their factory and witness firsthand where the magic happens. They entire operation is done locally in Vienna, Va which gave us all the more reason to support a local designer who is already well known throughout the world and the community. We felt the creative energy as soon as we stepped foot into their facility–from the intricate detail of pattern placement and die cut, to the sewing assembly line and final product. We were already huge fans of Karla Colleto’s designs, but, after speaking with Karla and the team to hear their inspiration and the thought-put behind each individual garment, we grew an even larger appreciation for them. Karla truly makes the one-piece swimsuit sexy in a very flattering way that compliments every shape and size. Definitely a must have in our wardrobe this Summer! Take a peak at our tour of the factory and our interview with the talented designer and team behind […]
