2021 Trend Alert

If you’re new around here, I also moonlight as the Fashion/Beauty Editor of one of my favorite fitness magazines, Strong Fitness Magazine. I’ve been writing their Lipstick & Leggings column since 2016 and I still pinch myself that I have this incredible opportunity to share what I love with the world. Last month I wrote about trends to look out for in 2021, so I wanted to share my top picks with you! Find my 2021 Trend Alert article and link to the products below.

If there is one positive take away from 2020, it would have to be the relaxed trend in fashion. Comfy living is the way of the future and since many of us are working/working out from home, we are fully embracing this more casual moment. While fashion may look a bit more cozy, don’t think you can slack on your skincare. It’s quite the opposite my friends.   With up close and personal Zoom calls and face masks causing major skin problems, now’s the time to give your skin a little extra TLC.

Ice Globes – De-puff before your early morning zoom calls with the cooling ice globes. Put on your favorite facial oil or serum and let these babies glide over your skin to leave you looking ready to take on your day! Magic Ice Roller Balls www.amazon.com $23.99

Beauty Fridge – Keep your ice globes, face masks and serums nice and chilled with your own mini fridge dedicated to your precious skincare. Extend the life of your lotions and potions. Vanity Planet Fria Skincare Fridge $109.99

Glo30 Mask – PPE or skincare mask? Or maybe it’s both! Wearable & completely hands-free technology that works by emitting infrared light in specific wavelengths/spectrums, which have different skincare benefits. It has been shown to speed healing, boost anti-aging properties, and kill bacteria. By stimulating blood flow in the treatment area, the mask helps to rejuvenate dull/tired skin exposed to environmental factors. $150

Hair Story – Groundbreaking technology in haircare. This all in one hair cleansing system cleanses and conditions hair without detergents that harm and strip hair.  I’ve been using this product for a month with the scalp brush and I am a firm believer! $76 for the Starter Kit

Unitards – Channel your inner Jane Fonda with the onesie trend. I was hesitant on this trend myself but the convenience of pulling out one piece of clothing and not having to pull up your leggings during a workout is a plus for me! Throw on a tank or sweatshirt over and you are ready to hit the town. Free People $98

Cropped Sweats Sets – Whether you love the tonal trend or are more of a tie dye type girl, there is a cute sweat set with your name on it. Perfect to throw on after your workout for your work from home calls and just add a cute coat or a flannel for a trendy look when picking up your groceries.  Nike Cropped Sweatshirt    Nike Essential Joggers Stone, $60   Nike Essential Mock Sweatshirt $60

Retro Sneaks – 80’s inspired sneakers are making a major comeback. Embrace the colors, styles and comfiness of this trend. Throwback brands like Reebok, New Balance and more are making waves in the shoe game. Veja Rio Branco $120

Antimicrobial Face Masks – There are a lot of trendy masks out there but what’s not cute is the maskne they leave behind. We found these stylish antimicrobial masks that prevent the growth of bacteria that causes acne and other issues. Masks $25

Mask Chains – Another trend we didn’t see coming. Mask chains are all the rage because they keep your mask handy while looking super cute. Once the pandemic is over, they can also double as sunglasses holders, or even a necklace! Mask Chains$69
