Light Fall Layering

Fall layering with Banana Republic

I’m not sure if I should be happy or sad that the coldest southern California gets is the low 50’s. The change of seasons and cold weather tied to the holidays this time of year really carries a special sentiment and makes me miss being back home on the East Coast. I suppose when I start hearing about the cold, bitter days and slushy roads with predictions for more snow, then maybe I will feel a bit more excited about making my way to the beach in the middle of February like when I first moved here. But for now I will just have to partake in fall dressing with light layering and knee high boots any chance I get.

Layering a white or denim button down under a shirt always elevates your outfit and gives that unexpected take on a basic top. I love popping a crisp collar on top of another texture for a sophisticated, clean layering which is perfect for achieving a cozy look with out being too hot.

Check out a few other of my favorite layering pieces to achieve a similar look for fall all under $80

I love what you did with this outfit! I’m a huge fan of button ups and the outer top looks amazing with it as it’s not quite a jacket but it’s not quite a simple top either. The colors looks amazing all together and you layered this so well! This assemble would look great with this simple gold jewelry for the fall.
