The Silver Lining Within Yourself

“Every cloud has a silver lining.” -it’s refreshing to go about life with such optimism and positivity. However it is not always the easiest, I and many others can vouch to this as well. This outfit post inspired me to dig a bit deeper and reflect on myself. I’m sure you have seen this pink wall before. It’s all over IG, we’ve featured it in the past and it won’t be the last that we do because the color is just too fun. Shooting at this location can be awkward at times when you have people constantly watching, driving by, or simply judging you as they’re taking their shots. But then a little boy and his dad approached me and wanted to take a picture with me and in that moment I was reminded of how non serious this is. I am shy and I tend to over analyze and over think anything and everything. I’m one to call out my flaws and unfortunately be more of a “glass half empty” girl at times. Little Black Jumper

To this day I am still trying to figure out my style. Some days I like to be girly and wear a colorful dress and heels, other days I like to wear a vintage rocker tee, loose jeans and sneakers. I guess I dress for how I feel that day and of course what kind of day I have ahead of me. But one thing I’m always down for is a jumper and anything black so it was love at first sight when this jumper came in the mail. It’s like the new “Little Black Jumper”. Jumpers, rompers, overalls … basically anything with two leg holes and a cute fit. I would say 1/4 of my closet consists of just that because it’s an easy go to with out having to put too much thought in to my look. I usually like to layer it with a cute denim jacket, blazer or an open button down shirt for an extra added detail. And because I’m always super hot or super cold, layering any and every look comes in very handy! Every lady needs a “Little Black Jumper” in their closet. Black + White: Holiday Dressing with Ella Rue

Anyone else feeling a little shocked that the holidays are just around the corner? It seems like just a hot minute ago we were sweating our buns off and laying by the pool and now we are prepping for Thanksgiving, then Christmas and New Years…yikes! This time of year is pretty nostalgic for us; we are actually able to unplug, unwind, eat home cooked meals and spend quality time with the people we love and cherish most. Another reason we can’t get enough of this season is for the plethora of holiday parties. There is just something about getting dressed up in your finest and heading out into the blustery night to attend a festive party that really gets us in that holiday spirit. And while we love attending these parties, we seem to always find ourselves scrambling to hunt down a frock at the last minute. This year we decided to break that bad habit and do a little planning in advance. We called up our friends at Ella Rue and asked them to scout out a few knock-out dresses for us with the holidays in mind. Dressing for Fall with H&M

Football season has officially started, the seasonal Starbucks lattes are finally back, yellow school buses are making their rounds and brisk, cool nights are here and sticking around. So many traditional signs to let us know that Fall is amongst us and we are loving every minute of it. The early days of fall are always the most fun to dress for. So many transitional pieces to carry from summer to fall to even winter. The minimalist trend is one of our favorites by far. This simplistic, effortless and refined chic look is perfect for the transitioning weather, with fitted silhouettes and light layering pieces. Tights, boots and some killer wrap coats or oversized throws will take you to the next season until all you want to wear are your comfy, go to sweats come February! We wanted to showcase our favorite looks from H&M featuring the minimalist trend for this season. These looks could easily be worn for a date night out and even to the office if you throw on the cardigan.
