Je Ne Sais Quoi

I’m a sucker for an easy breezy top that you can throw on and instantly look pulled together. When it’s been as hot and humid as it has been here in DC the summer, the last thing you want is a skin tight shirt that is suctioned on to your body. Oh the dreaded pit stains and back sweat that come along with those tops, a good look for sure. As temperatures finally cool down a bit, it will be time to break out those flowy bell sleeved tops that have been patiently waiting in our closets for their turn to make an appearance. This one has been a favorite of mine because I’m sucker for pretty much anything off the shoulder and the sleeves just give it that “je ne sais quoi”. Paired with white or dark denim and heels and you have a killer casual date night combo. Little Black Jumper

To this day I am still trying to figure out my style. Some days I like to be girly and wear a colorful dress and heels, other days I like to wear a vintage rocker tee, loose jeans and sneakers. I guess I dress for how I feel that day and of course what kind of day I have ahead of me. But one thing I’m always down for is a jumper and anything black so it was love at first sight when this jumper came in the mail. It’s like the new “Little Black Jumper”. Jumpers, rompers, overalls … basically anything with two leg holes and a cute fit. I would say 1/4 of my closet consists of just that because it’s an easy go to with out having to put too much thought in to my look. I usually like to layer it with a cute denim jacket, blazer or an open button down shirt for an extra added detail. And because I’m always super hot or super cold, layering any and every look comes in very handy! Every lady needs a “Little Black Jumper” in their closet. Is it Spring Yet?

Is it spring yet? Living in sunny LA I shouldn’t be complaining given what transpired last week in Northeast. However, it has been abnormally cold here this winter with El Niño gracing us with its presence. In fact, this week has been one of the coldest with heavy down pour and temps in the low 50’s, even droppings in to the 40’s! Brrr… numbers I didn’t expect to see here especially after we just enjoyed a couple of incredibly warm and blissfully sunny days just a week ago. It was so warm that I was able to wear my new off the shoulder top. I had sat it aside in the closet thinking I wouldn’t be able to bring it out for a few more weeks. Clearly I was wrong. This little number from SheIN is so cute and at an insanely great price. I can’t wait to pair it with pure white jeans or cut off shorts once Spring finally arrives.
