Scrub a dub dub, who is new to the tub? Baby Adaline was! Who knew the transition from the sink to the tub could be so difficult. Adaline who just turned 9 months is now 32 inches long (yup, she’s a long one) and we are both loooooong over due for this transition. As my increasingly mobile, long legged lady kicks and moves and splashes all over the kitchen, I knew it was time for the move. So I did what I normally do; google, read, ask mommy friends and try out new products until I find one that sticks. I just returned from my trip back home from DC and while traveling had attempted a few nightly baths in an adult bathtub but it did not go quite the way I had envisioned. I was trying my best to improvise by lying towels down and even placing her in a laundry basket but the open space and new environment frightened her. So I took action while away and ordered My Bath Seat™ from Summer Infant to return home to use immediately and all I can say is … SUCCESS! Baby girl loves it because it allows her to sit up and splash around while […]

Mama has got your back baby girl! Sharing my tips to transitioning baby in to the nursery … This post is loooong over due. Typical me excuse but totally true. I really wanted to write a post on transitioning baby in to his/her room because it’s something that not all new moms think about until the time comes. I wanted to share my personal experience because I can’t be the only un prepared mommy out there, right?! So when it came time to move her in to her big girl room at about 3 months, I was a complete mess. Of course I wasn’t getting any sleep to begin with so my anxiety level was through the roof. I had two cameras on her, well still do but I don’t stare at both religiously like I did once before. Every time I woke up, I would check the cameras by zooming in and ensuring that she was breathing. Then of course I couldn’t go back to sleep once I had that reassurance because I was just staring in to a lit screen for minutes looking for movement from a tiny infant. This would go on all night. So not healthy, I know. I was […]

The first few weeks were rough. It’s still tough but each week is getting better and I’m beginning to establish a routine and get used to my new life. By new life I mean completely sleep deprived while working on getting baby Adaline on a bedtime routine! I was so excited when her lil’ umbilical cord fell off because she could finally have a bath. Which meant we could finally start a bedtime routine for her. She wasn’t sleeping through the night before, with on and off feedings whenever she woke up which was quite often. I even delayed putting her to bed because honestly I was scared of the result, which wasn’t sleep! But now with implicating baths before hand, lathering her up with lotion, swaddling her and gently placing her in her Dock A Tot with the baby shusher on, she is beginning to sleep a bit longer because she knows it’s bedtime! Here are 6 tips to try in your baby’s bedtime routine that I found helpful … Bath Time: Begin with a warm bath and a nice lotion massage. Adaline loves the Baby Mantra calming lotion at night. The smell is soothing and puts her right at ease. Swaddle: Invest in a few […]

Buckle Up Baby, because there is nothing more important to me than the safety, well being and development of my little girl. That is exactly how the Evenflo family feels and what drives them to produce their product. My husband and I did our fair share researching brands and car seats. It’s an important purchase because our girl can use this car seat till at least 4 years of age, which is a LONG time in my book. So after reading the reviews and product details, we decided on the SafeMax All-in-One Car Seat. Why is it called All-in-One? Well because it is. It can be used rear-facing from 4-40 lbs, forward facing from 22-65 lbs all the way to a harnessed booster, 40-120 lbs. They go above and beyond with 2X the federal crash test standard, including rollover-testing and an integrated steel frame. Plus it has temperature-regulating fabric that balances your child’s body temperature with buckle pockets that help protect against hot buckle burns, which is great for the Cali sun. The Spring weather is calling our name, and I’m looking forward to safe travels with my new little family as we venture out and continue to explore this state that I love. […]
