Peace of mind is everything. Have you ever felt like you were being followed or in a sticky situation and you felt helpless that if something were to happen no one would have any idea how to find you? Not going to lie, the thought has crossed my mind a time or two. Even though I feel strong and have a gun in my home for home protection, I still feel like if I were to be attacked that I would be completely powerless. WiseWear, an emerging tech company, realized this fear that women were having and did something about it. They created a fitbit like bracelet that not only tracks your steps, calories, and distance traveled but also has a security feature that will contact your loved ones if you were ever to be in a bad situation. Believe it or not, I don’t own a fitbit and never have. I guess I never thought it was necessary to own one since I am always in the gym and constantly moving around. Recently, WiseWear reached out to me to try out their “fitbit” like product. I was skeptical at first but after seeing their design and their innovative technology and […]

Days have become a bit cooler, leaves have begun to fall and pumpkin spice lattes are being served at every corner coffee shop. All signs that fall has arrived. There is just something about this season that makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside and make us gravitate towards cozy clothes that you could practically curl up for a nap in. This sweater dress is one of these pieces. I wore this cozy ‘Mod’ look while attending fashion week and while the weather hardly felt like fall at the time, I pushed through anyway (to photograph this look) and came out practically unscathed. All in the name of fashion. I went for a mod look and paired this shift sweater dress with my favorite over the knee boots, round sunglasses and finished the look with a sleek top knot. I hope Twiggy would be proud. This look is easy, requires little to no thought to put together and is perfect for practically any occasion this fall/winter. I usually air on the side of simple when it comes to getting dressed and sweater dresses and shift dresses make life a ton easier for me in the cooler months. Just throw […]

Wearing: Dress: Loft (on sale for $17.99), Sunglasses: Loft (on sale for $15), Stuart Wietzman Nudist Sandals: Blue Fly, Necklace: Old (similar here), Chanel Graffitti Bag: Borrowed from Bag Borrow or Steal I recently wore this look to speak on the panel of Blogger Scene, a local networking event that brings all kinds of different bloggers from around the DMV area together. Blogger Scene was created by our friends and Natalie and Erika of The Fashionably Broke and Ashley of Ashley in DC to help educate and bring bloggers together to learn the ins and outs of blogging as a business. I was extremely excited that I was asked to speak on this year’s panel along with my office mates Meg Biram and Claire Ashley (you should check them out btw- these ladies are legit) as well as Mel from “Sarah, Ty, & Mel” on DC’s 107.3”. As you can image, I was super intimidated to be on a panel with these #Girlbosses, I mean it was only a year ago that I was standing in that crowd taking notes and wondering how I was ever going to make it as a successful blogger. A lot has changed over the past year […]

It’s coming up on one of my favorite days of the year… this day is honestly like a holiday to me and, I suspect, other fashionistas. The problem is, it takes a bit of concentration and (I’m not gonna beat around the bush here because I know that you, dear readers, will understand) psychic ability to discern the exact date. It’s not on any calendar I have and it varies depending on what city (or country) I’m living in, but it like the sun rising each morning it arrives every year. You make a mental note: this weekend, it is time. You know what I’m talking about, right? Because you (and I) are not the only ones with this original thought. That weekend, at brunch or shopping at the farmer’s market or out whimsically apple picking […]
